I am in the works to build a retro system, but not just a typical one out of a dozen systems,
I remember the Slot A vs Slot 1 era. Both Intel and AMD provided "Catridges" rather then typical Socket based CPU's.
They where quite sexy. With Intel, there was a option to run a Dual Slot motherboard / CPU combo:
However, i cant find nothing in regards of AMD having the option to run a Dual Slot A type of motherboard. Does anyone know?
Additionally, there's always the "Dual Xeon" approach of running 2 of below catridges (double their size) at 1GHz approx.
These things where double the height in regards of packaging size, and you can configure them with a board of up to 6 CPU's if i'm correct. But good luck finding such boards in the first place.
