Hi, I'm looking for a sound-card for my PC for listening to high quality music. After researching for good soundcards, the Asus Strix Raid DLX, Sound Blaster AE series looked good.
I'd like some help deciding on which of these are best in terms of quality, and whether it is worth spending an extra $100 for the DLX/AE-7
I live in Australia and I can get:
Sound Blaster AE-5 $200
Sound Blaster AE-7 $300
Asus Strix Raid DLX $300
I've considered an external DAC, with its main advantage being it doesn't have any sound coming from the MOBO, however I decided against it as I don't like cluttering up my table. If I had to get an external DAC I'd probably get the FiiO K3s for $160. How is the FiiO in terms of sound quality compared to the soundcards listed above?
My setup is:
Headphones: Sennheiser HD 700
Motherboard: Asus A520M-E
