Hi

I have card 6800xt and there is a problem when I play a lite game I find the FPS reach 500 or 800 which make the GPU hot spot very high and fans working like crazy to 3000+ rpm until I enable vsync and limit the fps to 144. Does nvidia GPUs has this problem too ?

Limit your FPS. Problem solved.

No need to enable Vsync to do so either.

Uh, any GPU will get hot when running at insane framerates. It’s also the circumstances that are most often the time when coil whine will present itself, even when it’s otherwise absent. There’s a reason why a lot of modern games have framerate limiters in menus, for example. I still remember that one funny instance when StarCraft 2 was burning out GPUs with its menus.

Overall, just use VSync, FPS limiters, VRR - whatever. 500 or 800 FPS is useless anyway.

An easy way to bring temps down is to enable Radeon Chill and simply set a limit to the Frame rate.

Yeah, a familiar symptom with my 6700 XT even with a beefy aftermarket cooler.
