unless u have a laptop or pc made for it i wouldnt it is paired with pcs that are tuned for it so pcs with full range speakers some even have 3 left right and a sub in the laptop/ pc itself ik atmos can see how many speakers you have but i dont think it can see thare capabilities in windows id reccomend useing ither dolby atmos for headphones (its basically the same tech just meant for speakers that are super close to your ears) or useing dolby digital plus home theater uses less compression than its older dolby digital home theater v4 brother and comes with 5.1/7.1 headphone and speaker virutalization

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/making-audio-enhancers-work-on-windows.244309/ this is the mod i used follow it step by step but if your useing a usb device ignore everythang to do with reltak it well still work if u get a 5.1 or 7.1 system make sure you enable dolby bitstreaming in your speaker settings and if a pc game isnt useing the rear speakers its useing object baced surround download fxsound hook the device and itll work like a charm :) good luck on your adventure

Forgive me for asking, but what is the point of Atmos on small, tinny built-ins that probably don't exceed 1 W?

You've got two options, though. Either buy the license on Dolby Access app, or use is Alan's modded HD audio drivers available here on TPU. Note that Dolby entitlement tends to get regularly nuked by Dolby on Alan's driver, so it's a cat and mouse game where the Dolby devs are usually ahead. Good luck.

more than likely gameing even with dolby atmos for built in speakers its a decent experince from what iv heard on laptops not only that but atmos also supports 5.1/7.1 content so maybe he wants just a virtual surround experince but cant afford headphones at the moment you neva know and if your speaking of this mod https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...-enumerator-chips.292621/page-25#post-5197813 that might help idk if it comes with atmos for built in speakers but i do know it comes with quite a bit

My Samsung S9 supported Dolby Atmos and even with the tiny phone speakers it improved the sound.
