duel rad to single rad no difference

In my loop i had a EK XE 360x60mm rad and a EK 360x45mm rad. Yesterday as a experiment i took the 360x45mm rad out of the loop to see if i really need it. turns out i don't. It has had near enough no effect on my temps either gaming or running a cpu bench with cinebench2024. Really surprised me, i guess the XE rad is better than i thought.

I have no idea why the temp on the CPU is lower as my fan profile is the same.

More radiator than needed. A 12700K isn't going to dunk heat like a 12900K or 13900K and 3080's aren't exactly the full bore highest heat output.

You are well into the realm of diminishing returns, the way it works with water cooling is that as long as the rads aren't being saturated with heat there is little to no point in adding even more surface area. You might see a difference if both GPU and CPU are 100% utilized.

now i found i got 6c lower when adding a second 480 rad, i have a 3900x and 3080. yours looks warmer with the extra rad if im reading it right.

The xe were EKs second best rads of their original series (I forget the name of their best rad, exe maybe, it was also a 60mm rad). Probably better than their current offerings tbh but I haven't bothered to check. You chose well.

Edit- when I say better, I mean by alot. They crushed the se and pe.

The XE is a good rad, i did read a few reviews of it. Dunno why i added the PE to the loop just seemed like a good idea and i had the space. Was a waste of money though it seems. I guess i will keep it incase my specs change and i need more capacity.
