I've thought about buying something like this before, but being honest about my own habits, it'd likely end up with an unserviceably dead battery after I shove this thing in my basement storage and forget about it for a few years. Too bad we can't just pop out the cells (probably 18650) and replace them like in old timey devices that used primary cells, or some emergency radios like the Kaito KA700.

That is a really great price but given the 1 year warranty I am pretty sure this thing will crap out after 13 months of use...

That is unforgivable. Solar panels are designed to be used outdoors. But not weatherproof? This design fail is so bad, it makes me question what other shortcuts have been taken.
