Entry level 4K gaming RIG for cRPG and h'n's games - Ryzen 5 5600 + RX 7600?

Low quality post by Macro Device
Getting annoyed at different opinions is childish, there's no two ways about that. Sorry.
Once again. You accuse me of what I've never done. The only nuisance is being misunderstood.
It'll help you formulate your point better.
No, sorry, this is beyond insulting. Even in my state, I remain totally capable of ELI5. The problem is on YOUR end.

You finding what I said insulting is a you problem. Seriously, get some sleep.

9600X is a solid choice. Very much approved! Enjoy your brand new gaming monster!
Missed this one. Enjoy :)
Thank you both, I will :)

I would suggest upgrading your CPU to the 5800X3D if you can still get your hands on one. Even 2nd hand.
There are no new 5800X3D anymore. It was heavy overpriced anyway, same way 7800X3D/9800X3D are now (at least 2000 PLN/500$ for 7800X3D).
On second hand market I see some 5800X3D, but most of them are for 1300-1600 PLN, and that's a price range of a new R7 9700X (1500 PLN).

I'd wait to see what the 16GB RX 9060 looks like at the very least over the the RX 7600.
Or wait for the 9060 series, it's just around the corner.
Would love to do so, but when I see all this madness going around RDNA4 and Blackwell real prices I don't believe 9060 will have similar to RX 7600 price anytime soon.
In my country RX 9070 is constantly more expensive than 7900 XT was. And it's not faster, not even same performance. Same about RTX 5070 - performance of 4070 Ti but much higher prices. All of them are nowhere near MSRP, VAT included or not.

Now. If RX 7600 (or 6600 XT) can achieve 48-51 fps in Witcher 3 and 45-48 fps in Metro: Exodus, all that on high setting, I will be fine playing some Pillars of Eternity. Really. I promise. This one I'm sure :)

Get a 42 inch LG OLED C5 if you can spare the cash.
Woah! 42 inch? Isn't it too much if I use 80 cm deep desk?
@Edit
I don't see any LG C5 model available in my country. Older LG C4 only.

The perfomance isn't even why I'd wait it's fsr 2/3 vs 4 especially on a lower tier card that im guessing you want to last. FSR4 is soo much better up there maybe even slightly better than DLSS3 SR.

It's your money though and if that isn't worth the wait or the likely increased cost only you can answer. I'd honestly rather have a 3060 12GB just for DLSS at 4k which even on performance mode with transformer looks better than FSR 2/3 quality.

The 5 series oleds aren't out yet afiak eta is by the end of this month in the states but other territories could be later.

Step up to a RX 7700XT and call it a day.

Should be good, they're paper thin! And the 2025 models juuuust came out, they will probably show up in stores soon. Might be a great opportunity to get a still amazing 2024 model on a very nice price, too.

RTINGS just got one and theirs hasn't arrived yet, so they're going to be reviewing it soon. The 2024 model (and even 2023 really) already exceed a reference IPS monitor's color gamut with perfect contrast, you can expect it to be slightly better than this:

Thank you all for trying to help me. I'm so sorry I wasn't a good listener and bought almost completely different RIG ^^; Here is how it looks like:

Dell G3223Q

Cooler: Thermalright Burst Assassin 120
MoBo: ASRock B850M Riptide WiFi
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 2x16GB 6000 MHz CL30
GPU: Sapphire RX 7600 Pulse
SSD: nothing new there, my MX200 and MX300 are still in a good condition
PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 12 M 550W Gold
Case: Chieftec Vision Air + 4x Arctic P14 PWM PST

No waiting for 9060 XT because, I'm sorry you guys, I didn't know what where you talking about. Here is my updated game list
Guild Wars 2

Steam:
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Age of Wonders III
Endless Legend
Pillars of Eternity
Grim Dawn
Tyranny
Endless Space 2
Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire

Wishlist:
Anomaly: Warzone Earth + Anomaly 2 + Anomaly Defenders
They Are Billions
Othercide
Star Renegades
Curse of the Dead God
Loop Hero
Tainted Grail: Conquest
Roguebook
Jupiter Hell
The Last Spell
Against The Storm

GOG:
Anno 1503
Anno 1701
Disciples II
HoM&M III
King's Bounty: Crossworlds
Stronghold HD
Stronghold: Crusader HD
There is no single game that has FSR/DLSS support. At the same time I don't see a single title there which beg for help from FSR to run smoothly. In my case all those games mean about 5-6 years of having fun. I don't mind if after that time I will be forced to change RX 7600 for something better to run Endless Legend 2, or Titan Quest 2.

@Edit

@Macro Device was working on 6600 XT, but no luck so far. If I want it to be on warranty, it's priced around 900-1000 PLN, which is to close to a new RX 7600 to my taste. BTW was trying few old games from my list (HoM&M III, Grim Dawn, Age of Wonders III, FlatOut 2) and they seem to run fine.

@Dr. Dro my next screen will be OLED, I promise :D Dell was almost half the price and all I like about 4K is (far) better pixel density than my old 24" fHD.

Probably unpopular opinion but drop the 4K idea and go to 1440P You'll keep needing beast GPU's to keep running on 4K stable and 1440P is literally half the amount of pixels that need to be rendered.
I went from 4K to 1440P and I actually found it to be an upgrade rather than a downgrade.

How many games from my list will be unplayable on RX 7600 and 4K? Name them.

None of them. All of these games are remarkably light. Grim Dawn is the heaviest and should still work.

As I thought.

Grim Dawn works flawless so far, but it's 5 hours only, too early to say it for sure. To my surprise even Genshin* works nice. High settings (no extreme). It makes my GPU run hot and loud, yes, but I found solution to that - 0.6 render resolution to keep RX 7600 cool & quiet (0.8 works too, but I'm blind or I don't now where to look to see difference).

* Wonder if it's not too late to join, but can't help it. I need a little of gambling open world & exploration in my life.

Genshin should run well. I'm playing it at 1080p/120fps and medium settings/0.8 scale on the RTX A2000, which should be quite a bit slower than the 7600. 4K/60 should work. This tool works for unlocking the fps and won't get you banned, I've been using it for over a year without issues. Use the signed version.

And not too late to join, in fact if you're still doing Mondstadt quests, the next banner will bring Venti back for a rerun.

The most important thing you can do now is just enjoy your rig. Sometimes people forget that step along the way.

For sure.. especially if you built it, be proud of it. Even if it is a janky piece of crap (which I'm not saying OP's is, just saying in general), enjoy it for that fact.

I treat building computers like building Legos, or more accurately, Bioincles. Can be simple, can be complex, can be great, can be awful, but enjoy the final product none the less.

@Wolfbyte
Keep your expectations realistic and be ready to turn some settings down at 2160p. 1440p should be a much better experience on high and 1080p will smooth as butter at maxed settings.
I'm aware about limits of my RX 7600. Have no problem to choose high settings instead of ultra ;) Medium/high mix is also an option if needed. Textures set to high is all that matter. But. Check my game list there (it's in spoiler). If I'm not wrong, Grim Dawn - because of old engine stuck to one core, Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire and Against the Storm seem to be most demanding. I'm not going to play Elden Ring/CP'77/... I don't even know what examples to put here, that's how much I don't care about AAA-games. That's why I believe I will be fine choosing RX 7600 and that's why I ignored tips to buy at least 7700 XT or nVidia for their DLSS.

So.

I know I'm late to the party, but I go along with this.
Thank you for that part. I bought R5 9600X instead of R5 5600, but I'm glad you are one more voice that my low-end RIG should be enough to play my games at 4K absolutely comfortably.

Agree with you there. Currently I'm playing old but gold FlatOut 2 and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords and they are giving me so much fun ^^

Not sure if I agree with you :D My very first upgrade wasn't a smart move. Athlon 64 4000+ instead of 3000+ - so still one core anyway. And 7900 GTO instead of 7600 GT - very quickly 8800 GT became far superior option for less money and I heard it was coming, so should wait!
But yes, I loved I set all those pieces by myself and that they worked good right from the first start - that one beep was lovely to hear :3

I'm so sorry. Was glad to let you know that I know what Genshin is as I was playing it since 1.4 way up to The Chasm - all regions 100%, had every single 4*, most of them at C6 - yeah, was trying to be 4* master, was using only them ;d Then felt burned out so badly that I requested to delete my account. Last Midway started again, it's not even a week and I feel burned out already. I don't thnik I'm going to continue. I'm so sorry.

You're forgiven :)

I started playing in 4.3 or so. It's been around ~500+ days of pure addiction. I've completed 100% of the entire world map, including the recently released regions and every single quest in the game lmao. Also reached maximum adventure rank, and completed past few Abyss runs with 36 stars and have a perfect track record with all stars achieved in imaginarium theater since its release. Wait I'm bragging aren't I

I've reached maximum trailblaze level in Honkai Star Rail and getting up there in Zenless Zone Zero... I like miHoYo games, understatement of the year

Woah, so it's not only about Genshin! Nice :3 I know HSR a little too (around Acheron release). Wuthering Waves too (1.0 and 1.1 100% completed). My problem with such games is I'm to weak against FOMO, so they quickly are becoming my new job. Other thing is no matter which Discord server I'm going to join I always feel like I'm the only one who care about gameplay, not about all this wiafu/husbando mambling.

So sorry but this time I want to stick with simple, relatively short games in which I can see any significant progress in an hour or three, not after whole month or half a year ;)

@Edit
EOT on my side.

Not really low end. If you were going with a quad core of some variety, that would be getting much closer. The 9600X is a solid upper midrange CPU. You chose well for gaming. For 2160p the important part is the GPU and with a 7700XT you've gone with a solid upper midrange offering there as well.

Yes, yes, you're right. I meant "low end from 4K resolution point of view" and had RX 7600 mainly in my mind ;) I'm sorry for not being clear.

I'm aware of that too. For a moment I was ready to buy 7700 XT, but at the time of buying things:
- RX 7600 was for 1162 PLN exactly (Sapphire Pulse).
- Cheapest non-Gigabyte RX 7700 XT was for about 1800-1850 PLN as I remember.
= That was 64,55(5)% higher price for about 38% better performance. I didn't like it and chose RX 7600. Plan to stay here for a while, from time to time will report in a proper thread how it's going on my end. Hope it'll not end up as on my avatar :D
