Evening all!

I recently got a 5.1 surround sound system to run with my PC, the problem is I want the speakers wired to the front room from the PC as I watch films from my PC to my TV.

I can't seem to find the cables needed.

These are the cables that run from my sound card to the sub:

Can anyone post links directly to the 3 cables needed as this will be of great help! Oh and they need to be in the UK and about 10 meters long.

;)

Well there's a wireless 5.1 by creative. It's a gigaworks. But it's whopping expensive. Around $300USD i think.

I have no idea how long the cables have to be, but standard jack to jack cables will do, in my opinion. I don't know about the maximum length of optical cables, and coaxial cables are crap unless you get an expensive one, so I think you're better off with the first option.

Cool, well if thats all I need, I have some laying around somewhere.

I was just unsure as the colours were different, but obviously this must be just a guide to where the plug in.

the colors are just there to make it easier to know which one goes where.

If you run extensions on those cables, make sure you have each cable the same length, or the audio will go out of sync with your surround sound.

Really?! Never knew that, nice one thanks!

i used extensions on mine, and it caused a volume drop - rather annoying when only the rear speakers lost volume, and not the fronts too.

On a setup like that you probobly will not notice a diffrence.

That would probobly be caused by diffrent sheilding methods used in teh diffrent cables, or an interferance issue.

With extension you need to worry about interference at the joint.... but with that kind of cable interference will always be there.....

If you get a buzz/whine/hiss - switch to sheilded cable.

i used identical cables of the same length from the same packet.
