Hi guys,

this is my first post here, but I am happy to see a lot of active supporting members.

I have just switched from a MSI GS66 Stealth to a Razer Blade 16 2024 RTX4080 and 14900HX four days ago.

Having thought that the MSI was hot, I have to say I am shocked to see almost immediate throttling on the CPU while gaming and temperatures in the 100 degrees constantly. The only way to keep the system somehow cooler is if I disable turbo, which neuters my computer and makes me wonder why I did the upgrade from MSI in the first place:)

Having said that, I have already read a lot of posts before posting this one, and here's a compilation of settings. Can you please tell me what else I should be changing? as I said, my priority here is not to get a burning laptop, performance wise I am ready to do a little trade-off (other than the disable turbo).

The screenshots were taken without any game running in the background, but in Turbo mode (Razer Synapse). The temps were recorded during the first minute of Cinebench 23 (they get worse later on:) )

Please give me an idea of what I should do before I go back with it. (repasting is something I don't want to do because I will lose the warranty)

Buy a desktop PC.

Jokes aside I don't know what you were expecting, this is a CPU dissipating 130W inside a laptop, the 14900 is hard to cool in a desktop PC with water cooling. I don't think there is any point in returning it, you're not gonna find another laptop that will magically keep this CPU cool.

I have a desktop PC with a 9950X3D, but I travel a lot and I was hoping to somehow take the games with me as well (yes, I have a steam deck too).

So should I expect the temperatures to be in the 100's as a normal thing with this laptop?
