Made the serious error of buying a GTX 1060 from Wish.
From GPUZ app it would appear to be mor elikely a failed GT550...
Certainly can't install the driver software form NVidia to confirm any of this as it returns the message "The grapohics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

Perhaps you guys here might be able to indentify, or at least give me a clue, as to which nVidia (if any) version this might be?

Replaced it with RX550 (The 1060 was bought for a build for a friend ... trying to keep the costs as low as possible)

Waiting now for Wish to reply to my complaint...

Lesson: be careful what you WISH for

How much memory does it have? it actually looks very much to me like it is a GTS450 Rev3 although that ROP count does not exist in the Fermi family but that would be my guess based on 1GB of memory.

the chip is an Nvidia 500 series, probably something like a GT545, 550, 555 or similar OEM version

It is 6Gb (Supposedly)
An aluminium foil label declares nVidia G6D5 S/N EHVGA 200912 and there no CE or FCC markings anywhere

I was guessing from the processor GF116 a GTX 550

In the future you should try to avoid buying hardware from sites that are known to be dodgy like this. If a deal looks too good to be true 99% of the time it's because it is...

Regardless if it's a 450, 550 or ATI1300pro, it's generations behind what you paid for so it makes little difference on the exact model.

Speaking of being "insensitive", you should be more careful of the terms you use in the future, as others might find them to be offensive and it can reflect poorly on your reputation.

Just giving you a hard time, no harm! :D
Much appreciated.
It's hard enough to understand each other on internet forums anyway, naming things randomly surely doesn't help.

The result is that Wish are refunding me, but have not furnished a return address, so it goes in the garbage. I am of the opinion that it is a faied Gigabyte GTX 550 from the design and colours of the casing, which has had a self printed label stuck on it, etc etc.

Thanks to all for your replies :)
