Fan Controller on a water pump.

Now there is 3 wires on the DD Fixed speed pump. 2 for power 1 for temps.

Could you use a fan controller to control the pumps flow?

Has anyone here tried that? I don't have a fan controller to test my idea with.

Rheobus handles 20 watts per channel, 12 volt control. I don't see why not I don't think it's wise though

if the controler can handle the pump wattage, you shouldn't have a problem, as all the controller does is limit the voltage.

Well I control it now with a meanwell, but that is controlling it with voltage not watts. This would be a lot better in my eyes.

I wonder how many watts it eats.

why? the pump should be running 100% when the power supply is on. I get annoyed when people inquire about connecting there radiator fans to a controller some things should not be played with, liquid cooling is about efficiency if a pump or fan bothers you maybe you should go back to conventional.

I only run 100% fans and 100% pump when I am ocing

There is no point in doing that when I'm not overclocked.

what was the point of purchasing $200 worth of water cooling equipment if you were just going to run the entire loop at 50% liquid cooling is about efficiency it doesn't pay off until you reach extreme temperatures.

I ran death clocks and then I have oc clocks that don't require me to run everything 100% fan noise.

Who cares why, its his, let him do with it what he wants. I dont see why it wouldnt work, and it should work quite well. Aside from maybe software control, I dont think a LC has fan control on it, does it?

2nd'd some pumps are adjustable like the MCP655 i'm getting it just depends
