Could you expand a little on the "Japanese quirks" in marketing materials? Are you referring to fractured hyperbolic English? I once spotted some real howlers in Final product announcements and alerted the customer support department to some of the most obvious ones. No response, no corrections. Ah well. . . .

Just saw this comment, and yeah basically what you were referring to. Some errors, but also some mighty strong extrapolations from facts to marketing.
