Last month I decided to buy a fake gtx 750 ti on wish. It turn out that the card was actually a 550 ti.

here is the card I bought on wish: https://www.wish.com/product/5a6ec145e26cae11be3a20de

I first installed the graphics card and tried to install the necessary pilots, but it was a failure. That's when I realized that the graphic card was a modified actually a fake graphic card.

After disassembling the graphics card, I found out that the chip on the card was a GF116-400-A1

So I downloaded the bios for this card and flashed the bios as shown in this youtube video

However, after reinstalling the card in my computer, the fans of the card no longer worked.

I'm sure I correcly reconnected the fans cable on the graphic card.

Can flashing the bios impact the use of fans?
Did I use the correct bios for my card?

Thank you for you help

We need a complete board shot front and back, also close up of 1 ram chip

Don't they work at all? What if you put some load on the card? It might be some auto-off feature... it seems to be pretty common these days. Not sure if that was a thing with the GTX 5xx series at all though...

In worst case scenario when You are stuck with bios that does not run fans but everything else is dandy ,go ghetto and run fans from psu molex ,i belive gpu fans are 12 volts. Might be posible to run it from mobo too if You have chasis fan out available.

SUCCESS! I did reflash the bios found on this page and now everything works as expected!

At first, I just wanted to reflash this bios (because I was actually receiving an output) and put an extra fan I had in my stock, on top of the graphic card, but after flashing the bios and ihaving it installed in my computer, the fans were magically working!

This was my first attempt to flash a bios using this method. Do you have an explanation about what might have happened the first time? I mean, I did try to plug, unplug the fans a couple of time, play with the wire with no luck, but now it just works.

Maybe the flash was larger and some of the old rom was their or it’s temp triggered. I’m not certain. Generally I try to pass a command to wipe eeproms before flashing since you can’t discount odd inconsistencies like this.

Some times flashing fake cards to original don’t even work once you find what GPU is “was” since modifications to the PCB are made.

I suspect some firmware remnants.

Bet anything You could put a Gigabyte bios on there and It would work.
If you ever sell the card please inform them that it has an Asus bios on it.
