Hey guys,

I was hoping someone could help me out with my kids Fortnite box. It used to work fine, he'd play on PC with his Xbox controller, but now he's tearing his hair out. When he goes to build, and hit the Right Trigger to place the build, it doesn't do anything. It shows the mouse being mapped to the keys I think, but he's not using the mouse at all, other than maybe in the GUI. I can't figure out how to get the game to ignore the mouse input and exclusively use his controller. (I don't Fortnite, so I'm not sure what's up). I've tried resetting the bluetooth connection to the controller. It's set to "Builder Pro" in the game settings.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have the exact same issue with my sons. And it is connected via original Microsoft Xbox USB cable. I have checked all updates on the controller and on the PC. Also checked the Fortnite settings. It works perfectly in my laptop but on his PC it doesn't use the controller buttons for building. Displays the mouse buttons.

We need help!!

Thank you.

I am having the same issue with my son. We have a gaming PC. And he plays Fortnite. The Xbox controller works for him to move around but it won’t let him build. It tells him to use the keyboard to build (which he doesn’t know how to play Fortnite using his keyboard). Could someone please help me fix this so he can use his gaming PC again? He is back on his Xbox playing. Which is very disappointing since we spent so much on this gaming PC. But my husband and I are not gamers so we are so lost! Please help us fix! Thanks!

Hello,
See the answer from XboxPCHopefull.
This fixes our problem witch is exactly what you are experiencing.

Try going in to the keyboard and mouse settings. Make sure the "Lock input method as mouse" is turned off.
This worked for us.
Thanks a million
