Hi. I'm planning getting a new setup. I'm going to a nvidia rtx 2070 Super and a Gigabyte Aorus CV27Q monitor wich is 2k and Freesync 2. My question is if the Nvidia card will be compatible with the Freesync 2 technology since now Nvidia support Freesync.
Thanks to all!

No. Freesync is a branding of the open VESA Adaptive Sync standard. Freesync 2 adds a bunch of proprietary extensions to this, and is only supported by AMD GPUs. Variable refresh rate will likely still work (though I can't guarantee that), but none of the other features of FS2 (such as native HDR tonemapping).

I will go for a simple Freesync or G-sync monitor so, since I can't afford a Gsync Ultimate display.
Now I have a GTX970 and playing 60fps, do you think is a good idea to do the jump to the 2070S and play 2k 144Hz? Or should I wait to 4k 144Hz?
Thanks for the fast response.

2160p 144Hz isn't feasible with current gen GPUs, and likely won't be with next gen either, at least not for upcoming/demanding titles and Ultra quality. I would go for 1440p - the resolution bump with 2160p is worth far less in perceived quality than the extra frame rate you'll get from the almost 50% drop in pixels by staying at 1440p. At least at 27". If you use your monitor for a lot of desktop productivity tasks 2160p has merit, otherwise it can safely be skipped for now.

I recently bought a Samsung Q7FN TV which has Freesync. Im using a GTX 1060 over HDMI at 1080P 120Hz. FPS is often between 60-90 yet there is no tearing at all. Unexpected but I think VRR comes into play regardless.

Eliminating tearing is exactly what this kind of tech was meant to do.
Doing so without all the draw back of vertical sync.

IIRC FreeSync isn't supposed to work on the GTX 10-series though. If it does, that's pretty sweet.

According to 2 sources there are a couple of G-sync compatible MSI monitors if you're interested in looking at MSI monitors.

No, not listed for G-SYNC Compatible. FreeSync features may not work at all.
Khek. Any Freesync monitor that has Displayport is technically "G-sync Compatible" compatible. The Nvidia driver detects the monitor and you can enable and all.

My problem is the VA panel itself. Since it's curved and VA I think it's a Samsung VA. And it comes with its associated problems. Since VA has slow pixel transition, it needs overdrive to mitigate it. And then too much overdrive can create overdrive related artifacts (inverse-ghosting).

Instead of jumping head first into it. Wait a few weeks until good reviews come out. I don't follow monitor reviews that much but tftcentral and HardwareUnboxed/TechSpot does a good job of reviewing pixel response/input lag in milliseconds. LinusTechTips usually does a cursory review but Linus has a good eye and will tell you which settings create artifacts (at least according to him or the guy who reviewed from hia team).
