Today i got a new case (Source 530) and a new 3TB Hardrive. My old case, the dell xps 8700 one couldn't support this new upgrade. I have spent most of the day fitting everything and i am certain everything is in the right place. However, the pins are confusing me. It is and 11 Pin and i have tried the suggested patterns online and it just won't start.

halfway down looks like it has some useful pictures

FYI the 8300/8500/8700 should all be the same according to some dell forum pages

Thanks for the post. I have put them in that order but it still isn't turning on. I don't understand why??? Everything is connected to the mother like it was in the old one. I was grounded the whole time, and the solid orange light supposedly tells me that there is current running through my Motherboard

try shorting the Start pins with a screw driver and see if it starts, you may have a faulty power button

I've tried that, and it still won't start and none of the LED light up aswell. But i know power is running through it due to the light on the motherboard

Okay i finally figured it out one of the jumpers on the mother board was plugged into the wrong pins when i accidentally removed them. Stupid me. Everything works now
