Please see the attached picture. I cannot get rid of it. I remove it and it keeps coming back. It is in Google chrome.

Why do you say it is spyware?

I can find nothing on that specific item but lots on service worker inactive chrome. The search hits suggest it is a Chrome extension issue and not spyware.

I suggest you look through those hits and see what applies to you but from what I see, you need to determine which extension is causing the problem, then uninstall it, restart Chrome and if you want that extension, install the latest version.

I wouldn't exacly call Chrome spyware but I would certainly not install it on my PC in the first place.

I don't think he is calling Chrome spyware. He is suggesting whatever is being identified in his screen shot is spyware.

Regardless - I see no evidence of that, one way or the other. What I "think" is happening is he has an extension to Chrome installed on his system that is not behaving as it should.

I was trying to be sarcastic. That post made no sense, but I guess noone can understand everything.

Either reset to default or uninstall chrome & reinstall also install malwarebytes or avast. I prefer brave more than chrome & you may try it mate.

There is always teh option for gnu shred with at least one full pass of all storage. I guarantee you, your malware will be gone. Of course read the manpage first: https://www.man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/shred.1.html

check what you backup // migrate your operating system. W10 is end of life anyway. Regardless if you are willing to pay extra for 3 year security updates soon.

It's happened to me...

Do this in this order:

Uninstall Chrome using the "Revo Uninstaller" app and choose the "Advanced" option in Revo Uninstaller. Delete everything Revo Uninstaller finds.

Run the Malwarebytes app and delete everything it finds.

Restart your PC.

Reinstall Chrome.

Let us know if it worked.
