Gigabyte rgb connectors

Hello,
I am trying to connect argb connectors to my motherboard. It's a Gigabyte b550m Aorus elite rev 1.3. I am trying to connect my thermaltake pure duo 12 argb fans but according to the manual provided in the fans I am suppose to connect vdg three pin

to three pin header on the motherboard. Well my motherboard doesn't have the exact vdg connector rather It has one similar to the ones found in asus, msi.

Should I connect the other argb connector to the vdg?

Did you look in the motherboard manual? Page 17. Your board has 5 and 12 V RGB headers.

You will need an adapter. Either look with the cooler goodies, or there is a chance it is in with your motherboard goodies. No garantee.

Looks to me that that connector from Tt is proprietary for their controller that comes with the multi-pack fans.

I had the rev 1.0 of that same board and indeed it didn't have that connector, just the standard ones.

And it didn't include an adapter either.

Can I use the standard argb 5v 2+1 pin connector? It's provided with it, but It says It's for msi and asus only.

Yeah, but the fan manual says It's for MSI and Asus only.

If the fans have that proprietary connector, then they should include the adapter also, or perhaps you have to use their hub for ARBG.

Well, clearly it's wrong, since that connector became the standard connector for RGB quite some time ago.

I don't remember, but it was some time ago for sure.
Just checked and it's at least since 2018 on Gigabyte boards.
Can't find any sign of a 3-pin, only a 5-pin GRBW connector.

I just remember that it was around Z170 era, for example my old Asus Z170 Pro Gaming had an AURA version.

I tried connecting the standard 5v 2+1 pin header and It worked.
