Original post below:

I've had these codes sitting for a while. I got them for my brother but he refuses to play because it "looks too hard." (Yes, he's a wuss).

If you aren't a wuss, you are welcome to enter. :) The frontier awaits! Drawing this Friday. 1 winner. Yes, this has both base game and Horizons, so you also get the exclusive Cobra Mk IV :)

Entrance criteria:

Please have a system that meets the minimum requirements (or be building something soon that will). No point in getting a game you can't play. Also, you have to be a member for at least two weeks and have at least 10 posts.

Thanks for playing! Oh, and if you see CMDR Oslov, that's me. ;)

EDIT: System requirements for reference. I recommend a Kepler/Maxwell or GCN GPU personally:

Elite Dangerous: Horizons Minimum
CPU
Quad-Core CPU (4x2GHz)
GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 or AMD Radeon R7 240
(requires DirectX 11)
RAM 6GB
Storage 8GB
Connectivity Broadband Internet Connection Broadband Internet Connection
Operating system Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-bit) Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 (64-bit)

I played on similar hardware a bit back (last year). Space will be no problem for you, but the planetary landings will probably lag if you don't dial them down to medium or so. Good thing you can adjust those separately. :)

I'm in for this prize draw, Thanks@_

Booohh, hissss. I'm trying to get my hand on at least an i3 (used), but yeah that'll happen before friday...

If you have something upcoming that will run it, then I'll allow it. I'll amend the rules to state such.

Consider yourself in. :) Actually the quadcore part is silly anyhow, the game's logic is largely server-side and GPU is far more important.

I'm in! I need something to do besides slaving myself away on JC3 and honestly, I never really played something like this.

i am in.
thanks for awesome giveaway.

No, not in. I don't really need more CPU power as such (well I actually do but there are many, many other things in life I need more so it's a low priority, fiscally speaking of course) anyway.

I play this game on my Dell 3540 laptop, has an i5 4200u that might be comparable to your Pentium performance-wise (due to the 1.6Ghz speed limit once the chip hits 70C) and it does just fine with this game and the slower 8850M/R7 265 GPU. I personally feel you'd do fine with this game...just might need to crank things back a bit if you were to start getting planet-side. I run Medium-Low in Horizons on my lappy and do pretty damn well overall, but I'm fine with 30-40FPS. :)

My main rig, however doesn't even break a sweat with this game cranked up unless I'm in a station or planet-side doing some canyon runs. :D

I'm in, thanks. Been wanting to try this one out.

Heads up, you can play elite without horizons. If you're not quite sure the specs RTB requested would get you the FPS you want feel free to go for it anyway. Much of/most of the game happens away from planets, and they are the most demanding part.

I personally reccomend the game, I've logged probably 400-500 hours in it? Also, I'll give whoever wins anything up to 500,000 in game credits if so you desire. Starting off can be hard, so a bump to a $100k combat ship can really nice. Of course, if you want to make your own way that's solid.

I'll enter. Flight sim player looking for a decent space game. ED looks interesting, and maybe I can use my HOTAS with it. My 970/4670K/SSD setup will work great with it I'm sure.

Thanks for the giveaway RTB!

Please may i be entered into the draw.

Yes you may... and I so wish I could land on earth like planets so I could do exactly that!

Indeed, the specs aren't really a hard requirement... I just don't want people trying to play it on a DX10 card or something.

Fair enough Frick. Thanks for the honesty. If you change your mind I'll let you pass. ;)

I guess I can handle it too :D
