I have PowerColor Red devil 6700 XT.

How bad for the card life is that memory clock (around 1990MHz) are always at 90%? I noticed that after last driver update (23.11.1). Didn't go for the latest driver because some people mention that it gives them stutter certain games.

I would suggest that you try the latest WHQL driver yourself. Your system is probably different than theirs and the stutters are not bound to be there and the memory clock problem just might be fixed.

I would rather wait for a new driver release, latest WHQL is month and a half old so new ones should arrive very soon.

But is constant higher memory clock bad for GPU life? I also use program Wallpaper engine, I think that program will also cause higher memory clock but with it closed memory clock remains high.

How hot is the memory it this state (idle but high clock)? Do you use dual monitors?

This is statistics from one hour of web surfing from HWinfo64. Wallpaper engine is closed.

First column is current temperature, second minimum, third maximum and last one is average.

There's nothing to worry about concerning temperatures (~50°C), but do try the newest WHQL drivers.

It's not BIOS updating, just use DDU to uninstall the drivers if you will have problems.

I know for DDU, but I decided to wait for new drivers. I am glad that temperatures are fine, so even if memory clock stays that way it should be fine.

For VRAM? No.

There may be a few fixes to improve you're problem though if you are running wallpaper engine in the background I cant help with that I have yet to find a solution for that (my memory clock always goes to 2238mgh when that program is on). first of all you might be recording your screen, like instant replay is on or record desktop that would make your memory clock to stay constantly on a high clock. this fixed my problem to drop down from 2238Mgh to 909Mgh, but still it was not low as I wanted it to be because other people reached to 148mgh and lower so the other fix I tried was to change my monitor's refresh rate mine is 180hz at 1440p, I lowered it by 3hz only, go to Amd display settings and make a custom resolution I made it 177hz after that go to the settings in the windows settings and you will find it there, change the refresh rate to that setting and you are good to go. Im using 7900 GRE and with two displays (the other one is 1080p 75hz not that great but its just a secondary). I do wish Amd would fix that issue but maybe Nvidia users suffer from that too. of course there is pictures to guide you I really hope that it will help.
kinda late but hope it's still relevant :)

I had this happen with my Asus TUF 6700XT OC as well before, I did remember I did something to make it downclock the memory like normal..I think you need to untick something on MPT for this to work normally.
