GPU-Z shows PCIe 5 but my motherboard is only pcie 4

So here is the hardware;

Ryzen 7 7700
Sapphire 9070 XT

When I look it up in GPU-Z it shows its PCIe 5 in PCIe 5 mode (can grab a screenshot later if needed).

Is it identifying by the components supporting it and not the MB? Can that even be discerned from a MB?
