I have played Project Torque for quite a while now, it have proved itself the best racing game I've played for a long time, tightly after NFS Porshe 2000 (Last good NFS D:! )
Its really a good game have a break from all the stressy FPS games.

The game is free, like any MMO you earn RP and XP, RP is for buying parts, car and upgrades, licensed car which can only be brought by AP. There is penty of free cars, AP car/ Free Car ratio is about 40/60 so there is no need to buy AP to get to the top, current the best car can be brought RP and AP. The game physics is about 80% simlation in SIM mode and as the name suggested, pretty arcadeish in arcade mode. Pretty easy to get use to the physics.
Note: Update can take a while though.
