Test system
Underclock config = EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 @ 1721 core 0.8V / 12474 mem , Underclock core but overclock VRAM.
Why OC VRAM ? To gain more performance at almost no additional power. Intend to show fully optimized config for performance per watt.
FE config = EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 @ 1835 core / 11000 mem , This is median value for most FE aka reference clock.
AIB config = EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 @ 1976 core / 11000 mem , This is stock clock for EVGA FTW3 (intend to show performance of typical non reference cards).
Overclock config = EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 @ 2126 core / 12474 mem , overclock both core and VRAM.
i7-8700K @ 5Ghz core and 4.8Ghz uncore
ASRock Z370 Taichi P4.00 2x8GB
DDR4-3500 16-18-18-36-2T (dual ranks double side Hynix AFR)
Corsair HX 750W
NZXT H440 White
Custom Water Cooling
Windows 10 64 bit 1607
Nvidia 430.64
Record by ShadowPlay
Side by side comparison.
Summary charts.
As you can see the underclock config work really well. Almost matching FE in every games at around 150W only.
