Good day I got a zotac gtx 1660 that the person said was working fine and then his pc crashed and the card started artifacting and the driver won't install. I took the card from him and put it in my system and the same issue persist. I took the heat sink out and the thermal pads were leaking which I believe would not be that serious I just cleaned it out. I takes baking the card following a guide on ifixit page, but it still has artifacting and no driver install. If I put the heat gun to the card would it fix the card temporarily? I would have to buy a heat gun but would it be possible fix, I saw a lot of people having success doing it with the heat gun. I can't RMA the card because the people I brought it from lost the invoice.

When reflowing a card, I honestly think half of it is luck! I couldn't say exactly what is causing the artifacting or driver failure on your card, but there's some chance it's a solder/PCB issue that may be fixed with a reflow. Typically, the oven method (with bare card) will get it hotter than just a heat gun and ambient temps.
Given the card is non-functional and you have no warranty the worst thing you can do is melt it, right?

True but I tried it twice with doing the baking method but the problem still persist. I saw a lot of YouTube videos with persons doing it with a heat gun which has a higher success rate that the oven method. I think I will bump the temperature a bit more and try again. I did it at 210 degree celsius. My oven max at 250 I'll try that the card is already broken.

Good luck!!! May the silicon Gods bless your card...

They may have used Flux when using a heat gun, but you can do that when baking too.

I think the card is unfixable. I try baking it again at 250, card still boots not driver install and artifacting. I opened gpuz and it shows 0 gb on vram. Could all the vram chips be dead? How am I able to get a display. I should I try a heatgun to the vram ?
