HDD 2.5" SMR and CMR, I have a HDD 2.5" Seagate ST500LM030 it is SMR is this a big disadvantage for developing bitrot and for long term archiving of data?

CMR is said to be more reliable. Exactly how, you'll have to wait for replies from people who know more than I do.

Benchmark Scores it sucks even more less now ;)
SMR = cons: Slower writes, not good for any raid setup, more likely to shit itself because the drive has to do more work on every write, heat.
Pros: large capacity availability, cheaper price per GB
CMR = Cons: cost per GB more expensive vs SMR, more platters /read/write heads so more mechanical things to go wrong
Pros: faster write speeds vs SMR, cooler running, large capacity availability, great for any raid setup

CMR is for any kind of data storage

CMR is said to be more reliable.
I don't think average reliability would be different.
Unless someone has statistical data on that?

SMR = cons: ...
I haven't seen anything regarding heat?

Large capacities - not really, unless you mean the cutting edge (>30TB).

Cheaper - I'm not seeing it. Like QLC vs TLC.
The theory says it should be cheaper. In practice, considering the many other factors in play in the market, it seems you can always find just-as-cheap from another brand, or model, or wait two weeks for the next price fluctuation.

Write speeds - Indeed, but mainly relevant in small writes. Bulk large file storage would be mostly okay.
