Hello
I'm using an "HDTV" as monitor using VGA output because it's compatible with all resolutions without any problems.
When I want to switch to HDTV, the only "good" resolution is 1360x765 and all of 4:3 resolutions. The others resolutions are de-ajusted and the TV doesn't have an auto-adjustmen option that is only avaliable in VGA.

Photos:

• 1920x1080 - HDMI

• 1440x900 - Duplicating screens

• 1360x765 - HDMI

• 1680x1050 - VGA

In the photos isn't visible but in the "good" resolutions and in the VGA mode the lookin is more smooth than other HDMI resolutions.

This happs in anywhere that is displayed by HDMI (Linux - Windows).

There is any solution for this, or it's becuse I'm using the HDTV as monitor?

Check your TV settings and play with 720p/1080i resolutions, this can cause the scaling to go weird.

Additionally, check if your TV has a PC mode or something like this.

Last, check if the PC uses any sort of scaling in NVCP, and if you can't get a correct native > native resolution path, use scaling to adapt to your screensize.

Top picture kinda tells me that you're using a HD Ready and not a Full HD HDTV panel, amirite?

Differently look in to the HDTV options, depending on what brand you have should have a bunch of option to change. For example on my aging Toshiba TV it's on a button called picture size were it shows the following options Natural \ Theaterwide 1-3 \ Full \ 4:3 and Native the last one being the right option.

This is because your TV is not a native 1080p panel, had that issue as well. If I'm safe to assume you're on an nvidia graphics card, you need to go to your display options and set to do scaling on either you GPU or display, whatever works best, if not, check if your TV has some in-built overscan settings.
