I am building a new computer and I don't know if I should go with a R7 7800x3d and Rx 7800xt or r5 7600x and Rx 8800xt when it releases. I mainly play Fortnite and call of duty and I have a 165hz monitor. The motherboard I went with is the MSI x670e. Thanks for the help

I guess its a question of budget, so go for 7600x with 8800xt, its for gaming so GPU will have a bigger impact and the 7600x is still pretty good, but you could get a 5700x3d for the same price which will give you more performance.

Are you playing at 1080p or 1440p?

Either way, I'm pretty sure 8800xt won't be bottlenecked by 7600x at 1080p, so that'd likely be the way to go. If you're at 1440p, that's definitely the way to go.

R7 7800x3d now and when the 8800xt releases then that. Then upgrade again when AM5 will become an EOL platform with new and better components

Wait for the drastic price drop a few months after release on new AMD cpu and gpu.
