Hey guys how's it going , recently i bought an Msi GTX 1660 super Ventus XS OC that is used in a perfect condition , the seller claimed that the card has an issue with it which is that the card powers on and the fans spins up but it won't get past the boot initial sequence and restarts the PC over and over again and it won't show anything on monitor , anyhow I've bought the GPU for 75$ and started doing some tests with it I've checked the pcb and all the chips and VRMs with a multimeter and everything looks fine to me with the pcb there are no burnet or shorted circuits what so ever , so next thing i did was that I've cleaned up the Gpu applied a new thermal paste put it back all together and plugged it in the 2nd pcie slot in my mobo which is Asus X570-Tuf Gaming Plus next I've booted up my PC and i was able to check the Gpu in Device Manager it shows the card all functional with no issues but when I use GPUZ the check the specs of the Gpu and it goes Like this

there is no info stored in the bios at then I decided the bios flash the GPU to revert it back to it's original status so I've downloaded the latest release of Nvflash from TechPowersUp.com and the latest correct bios for the GPU from here https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/215809/msi-gtx1660super-6144-191029 so i backed up the original bios with Nvflash and then i tried to flash the Gpu using these commands [ Nvflash --protectoff ] [ Nvflash bios.rom ] but there was no luck as an error msg "Gpu Mismatched" keeps popping out then I used [ Nvflash -6 bios.rom ] to override mismatched sysid still there was no luck to flash it at all then used the latest modded version of Nvflash with the up mentioned commands but still i can't bios flash the Gpu , after hours of googling and reading articles about this issue i wasn't able to find any answers to fix this issue then outta of frustration I wanted to try something different so I grapped an MSI GTX 1660 " Non Super or Ti " bios with the same model as my GPU and tried to flash it again with Nvflash then Voalah finally the bios is flashed correctly but here where things gotten real weird as i restarted my PC the GPU only shows a glitched out image that renders to half of the monitor and when i open up GPUZ to check the specs it goes like this

GPUZ GPU FLASHED and kindda working.gif

it shows that the memory type is GDDR5 which is incorrect cuz GTX 1660 Super uses GDDR6 memory with unknown Bus width and Bandwidth and 0mb of memory size then I figured out this is wrong so I should flash back the backup i saved earlier and start over but now no matter what I do i can't flash back the original bios backup nor the correct bios which is MSI GTX 1660 super Ventus XC OC that I've downloaded from techpowerup.com to the GPU , now the only bios i can flash back to the GPU is the GTX 1660 [ non super or Ti ] one and it accepts any sub vendors from the GTX 1660 series but i can't bios flash anything from the GTX 1660 SUPER series at all , so any suggestions ??

You probably bought a non Super variant that was incorrectly flashed.
