Hello everyone,

I just bought a used Gigabyte RTX Vision OC 3070 TI but its not booting and it gets stuck on the VGA light.
For starters i am running this on a fully functioning test bench that I test different GPU's frequently here are the specs.

MSI Z390-A Pro Mobo
Intel I5 9600k CPU
2 DDR4 SkHyinx 8gb 3200 RAM
Dell Gold Rated 1500W PSU

I have run the GPU with integrated graphics from the CPU and in Device Manager the Nvidia 3070 TI shows up in display adapters.
I have opened up the GPU and have cleaned it and repasted it everything looked fine to the eye.
I have also flashed this VBIOS on the GPU https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/241171/241171
and it didn't work I'm still getting the same VGA Mobo light.

Does anyone have an other ideas or ways I can get it to post or should I just except it's a hardware issue that needs to be fixed.

Take the gpu out and update your motherboard bios, if you still have a problem send that gpu back for a brand new in box AMD Radeon RX 6000 or RX 7000 or nv equiv from a reputable store, not ali express, or temu...

The vga light being on is a hardware fault indication, that should have been the sign to send the card back.

It’s also reading temps and system memory used which is weird.

I understand what you’re saying but I buy these gpus like these to fix them most of time it’s a corrupt Vbios but I’m just trying to see if anyone else has any ideas. If I brought it brand new I would have returned it by now.

Ok so you bought the card knowing it was bad then correct?

In that instance, take a picture of the white sticker info from the card, then take the heatsink off and get a picture of the gpu die with the text info clearly marked and legible, then get a pic of 1 ram chip, physically verifying is the first step, with nv cards you have LHR and non LHR variants

There's only two Vbios with those ID numbers in the unverified section, one is non LHR the other is this one:

Sad enough is heatsinks get swapped on gpus too so even the dev id and ssid may not even match the board config. If im not mistaken gpus are marked on their silkscreen as lhr and non lhr via the code sequence

I disconnect the gpu and was in the process of doing a bios update because I had never updated it since 2018 and I went to the bathroom for 2 seconds came back and the test bench was off and won’t reboot so I think the mobo maybe bricked now…

I’ll see what flash that Vbois does when I get the mobo working or just a new one…

I appreciate the help

There may be flashing LED indicating BIOS flash is still underway even when it's powered off.
BIOS flash may take a while, if setup is turned off - let it be for a while.
If after an 30 minutes system fails to post, try using BIOS Flashback feature to reflash the BIOS (if your boards has it).
Did you tried using iGPU from CPU ?

When on it gos straight to a solid cpu light but it won’t stay on without me holding down the PSU Power on button and jump starting it on the board does not work.

You have bigger problems with the motherboard.

It seems like requiring the bios eeprom chips be removed from the board and reflashed or replaced at this rate, or motherboard replaced.

Get the motherboard problem resolved then come back

And by the way unless if you have a specific functionality problem with your motherboard or GPU, DO NOT FLASH THEM
