Hello,

Sorry for my bad english,

I followed tutorials on the internet but I just discovered this forum and I ask you for advice :)

I'm trying to do an undervolting and I would like to have an opinion on my settings and know if there are parameters to change to improve the undervolting

My laptop is a Legion Y540-15IRH / model 81SX (i7 9750H/RTX2060/16gb/512gb SSD/ FHD 15.6'' 144mhz)
i changed the 16gb RAM by 32gb RAM crucial 2x16, and i bought grizzly kryonaut thermal paste if i need to change the thermal paste.

Mode performance via Vantage

For information :
I used MSI afterburner with the scan / test and after a few tests I raised the frequency of the RTX2060 to 200 mhz, everything is stable on this side, but it surely increases the heat inside the legion.

Turbo FIVR control : I changed the voltage settings, nothing else
Turbo power limit : all the settings are those by default, I did not modify anything

TS bench : Core Thermal and EDP others flash red and also stay red during the test for a few seconds.

Here is LOG file after played 15 minutes at Far Cry 5 (mode ultra and Texture HD)

Here are some captures of my settings with throttlestop.

Thank you for your help and understanding

I have the same laptop, you have to click and instal that disable and lock turbo ratio limits. Also at bios disable dptf. Options change prochot offset to 0 and lock it. All iccmax to maximum. And it seems you have some balance mode on because speedsift is 36 and 84. You can change it to max performance or click speedsift on at throttlestop and change it to 0.

+ If youre using lenovo vantage be sure its setted to performance. I dont use it but it takes power away. And there is my temps after 1024M bench.

+ run cinebench test so we know how it works. That 3167p was different settings but those what I posted I use everyday.

+ And for the afterburner, my is stable with core +212 and memory +1013. But I recommend first to get your cpu working fine with afterburner default settings. But if you use these settings you have to be setted all time to max performance. It crash if you have different settings for battery etc. 200 core and 600 for memory is definetly stable.

Hello Ereko and thank you,

I am already in performance mode

---------------

I reset the default values of the rtx2060 and adjust the i7 correctly before making an oc of the RTX2060 as you advise

Bios disable dptf OK

I used your settings but I go up to 97 degrees and around 3700/3800 mhz with TS bench

Cinebench 20, my score has not changed I'm around 2850

I uncheck PROCHOT but it always comes back

thank you

thank you
Is it like that?

If you dont get over 3000 something is wrong.

There are settings for this.

Click that speed sift on, so but x on that. And change that prochotoffset to 0 and lock it. Send your fivr and tpl settings screenshots.

hello,

I deleted the config.ini to return to the default setting and I did a new basic undervolt for now

Did you change the thermal paste of your legion ?

No, your problem is not thermal paste. Did you disable dptf in bios? Send all your configs or pm me and let me take a look with teamviewer.

Hello ereko,

Sorry for the delay, I had a health problem.

I changed the original thermal paste with Kryonaut grizzly

Here are the results of my benchmarks

And average FPS in some video games

Far Cry 5 with ultra settings without GPU OC and turboboost disable

With OC of RTX2060 (+ 200Mhz) and active turboboost

A benchmark with Gears tactic, this test being different each time, so here is an average. Default settings except on this page where I increased the graphic quality of certain options

My settings that I have with throttlestop, with this configuration my laptop works well for the moment

Some people advise to deactivate the turbo boost power short max

Could you send me the optimal configuration so that the cpu does not overheat and the battery performs better. thanks

@ereko help me please, send me a private message
You will have to work out what settings work best for your system.
All systems vary and no CPU is exactly identical to another.
