I've been through a few thermal paste on GPUs, but none of them actually last too much, as temperatures starts to creep very high really quickly.

Currently, i have a AMD 6800XT and i've changed it's thermal paste 4 times in the span of 2 years. I'm not exactly comfy doing this because that thing is a precious gem to me so every time i have to change, i do it while shitting my pants.

I have used Hydronaut, Coolermaster Cryofuze, Corsair something (sorry, beeng too long) and for last and more recent, Artic MX-6.

My disdain for this MX-6 is immense because, 4 months in and i've never seen temperatures so damn high, not even my CPU can stay at same temp as the water from the WC, which is fascinating in a bad way.

So, for the experts, what thermalpaste do you guys recommend that has a great lasting performance?
I've seen people on Reddit saying that Thermalright TFX and Gelid GC Extreme are one of the best for the job, can i trust that or perhaps is there a better option?

I have repasted and long terrm tested dozens of GPUs.
Either get a phase change pad from honeywell or thermal grizzly or try thermalright TFX/TF8

Excuse the perhaps dumb question but, thermalpads on the core? Like the PTM7950?

I've bought some thermalpads 1 year ago for the memories and VRM, 1.5mm thick.

Is this PTM7950 that good?

I've been running KPX on my 3080 FTW3 for well over a year with no change in temps.

Thermal grizzly goes a good 6 years without change. But that is the about the limit of paste before it starts to harden and lose its effectiveness. As @kiddagoat linked. Those cyro sheets are pretty much the best you will get for long term.

It’s probably more likely pump out. my card has started to creep up again Im actually not sure what paste I used last time.
I think i might actually try Kryosheet it definitely won’t suffier from pump out that’s pretty certain.

On a quick update, been using the TF8 since making this post, temperature never budged a bit from the day i applied, i'm actually impressed. I'll leave my impressions over the months.

Maybe in the future i'll grab some of those pads to test as well

Yes.
Not for water-cooled cards though, since the waterblock doesn't get warm enough for phase change to occur evenly and completely.

I use liquid metal. Never an issue if we don't count it being a little tricky to apply.

My vote go to Thermalright TF9 or TF-X.

Also keeping your GPU temp cool by running higher fan speed also help

In my experience - even factory pre-applied paste (which is considered not best quality) start to show age at least after a year - i usually re-paste around 2. I suspect you have a different issue that paste quality.

At the risk of hijacking the thread (although is somewhat relevant) what size PTM7950 thermal pad would be best fit for a XTX 7900XTX Merc Black Edition please (or how would I find out?).
The review here has the area https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/xfx-speedster-merc310-rx-7900-xtx-black.b9926 but I don't see length/width measurements.
Be more concerned about the thickness of the pad so you don't warp the pcb or crack the die, thermalpads can be cut to size needed when ordered as a sheet

I am using a Thermalright Heilos pad on my 4070Ti. With my current case config, I am seeing a 9c spread between GPU and Hotspot.
