Without making much noise, HIS released a custom-design ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card with its coveted IceQ moniker. The HIS HD 5770 IceQ 5 graphics card comes months after the company released the HD 5750 IceQ. The two differ in design and features sharply. The HD 5770 IceQ 5 features a longer PCB, a more complex cooling unit that makes use of 8 mm thick heatpipes (earlier used for HD 4870 based cards), 1 GB of GDDR5 memory, and reference clock speeds of 850 MHz (core) and 1200 MHz (memory). A "Turbo" variant that comes with higher clock speeds out of the box cannot be ruled out at this point. The Radeon HD 5770 features DirectX 11 support, has 800 stream processors, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. The IceQ family of graphics cards from HIS are known for higher cooling performance, and are usually quieter. The PCB is characteristically blue, and the cooler-shroud is reactive to UV case lighting. Pricing and availability are not known as yet.

They Understand Crossfire Setups

Suckers are way better than blowers.:)

But where is the second crossfire connector?

Then the card just blows!!!!!!

New revisions of the PCB only have one crossfire finger.

Who cares about the great cooler if only 2 card crossfire is possible? You could just buy a 5850 or 5830 in that case. I guess 1600 shaders is enough for now but with what I've seen with 4850s in triple crossfire 50% more performance with the 3rd GPU is worth it especially if you can get a better price than a single 5870. If all is working with the right setup you could get roughly 50% more performance than a single 5870 since each 5770 is 1/2 a 5870 for a similar price. You are hoping for crossfire profiles to work as they should. It is a risk. But that is where the fun is.

Because CF 5770s run neck and neck with and even sometimes beat a 5870 in most reviews at a lower price point.

Yes but...........

For $100 less you get possibly similar performance and possible half the performance. I believe HIS should have made the card like their 5750 shown here.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Image... x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

It has both crossfire connectors and 3 5750s will and do push a lot of GPU power. Anyhow I really think 2 cards are not worth it performance wise and you are better suited with an always on 5850 without the crossfire complications. You either go for gold or go elsewhere. It is a nice 5770 but flawed.:nutkick:

well the HD 5830 is somewhat better than the HD 5770 but honestly with its performance i'd call it the HD 5790...its only 6% faster on avg at 1680x1050-1920x1200 according to tpu's review. The biggest margin is 13% at 2560x1600, but i dout anyone with big a monitor is going to run a HD 5830. If the DH 5830 had had like 24ROP's or so then i think it would be much much better, but ATI severely crippled it with only 16ROP's like the HD 57XX series.

OT: if this card was oc'd at like 950/1300 i think it'd be gold, but i supposed we'll see how it overclocks, hopefully that longer PCB isn't there for nothing.

Agreed but power consumption should be higher than a single 5870.

Still, it has nice cooler.

More of a 5810 ;)
That is the pos 4730 was originally the 4810

The 5770 is far from crippled, it does exactly what ATi wanted it to do, which is to replace the 4870.
By saying they 16 ROPs crippled the 5770, you are saying that the 4770/4850/4870/4890 are all crippled. :shadedshu

Do they have these for the top end? Wonder if they thought about making the 5970 in an IceQ variation....Good to know they haven't abandoned the IceQ cooler as well.

Me too (since my X800GTO), I was going to get the 5750 version till I saw this now its a harder decision...

I wish the 5770 had the more open exhaust like the 5750 does, but this looks like a pretty good cooler.

One nice thing about this 5770 cooler is the fan is moved more to the edge of the PCB so if you have a sound card or something else in the next slot it wont block the intake as much as the coolers that mount the fans closer to the I/O side

i meant that it was crippled to 16 rops, the same amount as the HD 57XX series. just meaning that i don't think its price/perf sucks. the HD 5830 is $239 cheapest on newegg yet u can get an HD 5770 for $153 w/free ship ~$90 dollar difference for 6% performance increase?....fuck a whole lot of that. the price is why i feel it should have more perf and more ROP's would do that and justify the HD 5830.
