This stinks of failure leaving contract to remaster a game unfulfilled. Unless they are actually on the verge of adding whiskers.
Not sure how interesting this remaster is going to be. Outside of particle effects and soil/snow interactions there isn't a huge difference. $11 currently vs $60 or more is hard to argue.
