I was seeing comments like this on YouTube: I wish Nvidia had higher msrp, so we would pay them instead of paying scalpers

Are you sure that wasn't Mr Huang dropping bombs in the youtube comment section?

$249-$299, I picked 249 to encourage lower prices. This is the same price level of the GTX 1060, and the sweet spot for most gamers out there.

the 2060 and 2060 super were $349 I think. $349 is an acceptable price to me, as the 3060 is $329 msrp. But it's best it never goes more than $349, because then people aren't gonna be happy.

The launch of the 4070TI makes me think the 4060/4060TI will be around 400/500€.
Usually the x70 line offers the best value and we all know the story by now...
When the 3070 was announced at 500$ it felt like good value, but it still was more than I was willing to shell out. I've been waiting for almost 3 years for it to go below 400€ and I feel that it won't be this year that Nvidia will deliver 3070/3070TI "raw" performance (without DLSS3 gimmicks) at that price point ☹️

nVidia has made a paradigm shift in their pricing policy. No longer with the RTX xx60 class cards sit in the mid 300 range, they will shift to mid 400 to 500, even Jay2Cents had stated that pricing is just crazy, and is THAT crazy. Look at it this way, the RTX 4070 Ti is 799USD, the 4070 would prolly be 100 or so less, that brings us to the RTX 4060 Ti which should sit at mid 500 (if we're lucky). Cheapest we can expect the RTX 4060 to be priced at is mid 400USD, and that's me being optimistic.

Doubt it. They recently announced the RTX3060 8GB SKU, so that tells me they still have plenty of stock.

8GB launched so that 4060 looks like an upgrade. There is no doubt, 4060 only after 3060 is gone for good, 4070 is the best value card yet to be released and better be ready. start saving now.

If bitcoin doesn't come back, they gradually lower the price. It's better this way.
Otherwise miners will gulp the stock, then you beg Nvidia to make more of those cheap nice cards.

I was seeing comments like this on YouTube: I wish Nvidia had higher msrp, so we would pay them instead of paying scalpers

Nvidia has been doing this long before mining was even part of the equation and no they wont be lowering prices, why would they ? Just take a look, most people on here still expect AMD to drop prices even though it's painfully obvious they're not the ones who started these absurd pricing schemes.

Does anyone remember when they sold GK104, a GPU that was clearly not even close to being a flagship as an x80 class card for the same money as the previous GF110 GPU which was in fact the largest chip they could build ? Then a year later they sold the actual best GPU they could make for 1000$. Well, I sure do remember, then they did it again with the 1000 series. No one was buying Nvidia cards to mine with them when that happened, there was no inflation, no shortages, so they just genuinely tried to rip you off as much as they could.

And the pressed loved them, no peep about how they were screwing over the customers with the new pricing and how they essentially doubled the price of their flagships. You don't like the current GPU segmentation and pricing schemes ? Too bad, you're about 10 years too late to complain about that because this crap didn't start now.

I'm more concerned about the length of it than the price, as I'm now considering just upgrading my GPU vs building an entire new rig, a my current case only supports GPUs up to 318mm.

I'm considering the upgrade alternative due to 4K not yet being practical, but regarding a general lack of content, not gaming related.
