How to add fans for Thermaltake Armor?

Do I have to buy these hard drive cages in order to add fans? I really don't want to pay for these creppy fans that come with the HDD cage.

yes, that is the best way to add fans to the Armor.

kind of sucks if that is the only way to add fans. I was thinking that the armor case had holes to mount 120mm fans in the front panel.

Zip ties, Velcro, double sided tape? Think outside the box a bit an I bet even with some bread bag twist ties you could get a fan pretty secure in there!

No, The iCage is the way to do it all though you can put them any were in the case.

IF you only have 1 or 2 HDD you could do what sneekypeet is talking about.

A problem is with he icage is that it has way to much metal to it. I dremeled mine to give much better airflow.

I second sneekypeet, I have an extra fan in the front suspended with elastic. If it's to cool more hdd's though, then yeah, might as well get an iCage and dremel for airflow. Or suspend the drives on elastic for even better airflow, and less noise.

Get creative and look at the side where the Icages mount. Are there holes? run skinny wires, zipties....whatever is around the house and just suspend a fan in there.

Yeah, there's plenty of places you could fit a wire or ziptie or something through to suspend a fan.
