You have to download this program as listed above. This will update your SSD, IF there is any update available. If storage executive says nothing, then you have the latest firmware already installed.

Is it connected to M.2 PCIE slot in your PC? What Micron type SSD you use and what version firmware has it now?
Updating Firmware only works if the SSD is connected directly with your PC, an USB external adapter usually does not work and is not safe.

This occurs either from an outdated or incompatible Chipset/SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) driver, or wrong installation.

So you have to either use an SATA cable or an M.2 slot in your PC to update any given SSD.

Micron releases firmware in .bin files here: https://www.micron.com/products/ssd/firmware-downloads

Of course I recommend simply using the software to update your drives. If the drive isn't showing in the software it could be any number of issues. First check to see if your operating system can see the drive and if you have the proper drivers installed. I'd also check the drive itself to ensure all cables are properly connected.

Not all SSD are listed there, for the newest firmware's you have to use Storage executive now.
And as said External USB cases does not work at all. It's the same with Samsung, they list many ISO's but not for all of the SSD available, why i have no idea.

Administrator or root user privileges are required to update an SSD in Linux. This also can be the reason it does not find any SSD in your system.
An ISO file is meant to be burned to an USB stick, and boot your PC from it to update Firmware in Linux session.
