How to connect 2 PCs?

I know about KVM switch but don't need the video part since ill use 2 monitors but have only 1 keyboard and mouse, are there a different switches available?

Just use a KVM but have the monitors plug directly into the computers.

KVM still works for the mouse and keyboard. Don't use the V but keep using the K and M.
