SOLVED: Its still completely messed up nonsense, but I managed to sorta solve it, or atleast bypass it by using my laptop and logging into proxmox from there, with that keyboard there was no issue for some bewildering reason.

Im completely out of ideas.....

Im messing around with a home server and some vm nonsense for fun, Vista works, TrueNas works.
Now im trying to run an apple MacOS and I followed all the steps, all is going well but now im stumped by the dumbest thing....

how on earth do I type a colon sign in the UEFI Interactive shell.....

I followed this guide:

and at about 3.40 you need to do something in the interactive shell, I simple need to be editing the FS0 portion but in order to address that I need to type in FSO:
but all I can do is semi colon ; so FSO; but that isnt recognized in shell......

The shift key does not work in this enviroment, I tried software to remap a button on my keyboard (+ on the numbpad) to be a dedicated colon key, it works everywhere...but in this damn shell menu it just acts like a semi colon.

I changed my keyboards layout to azerty or other stuff because those have dedicated colon keys and outside of the shell it works but in shell its all semi colons....

I tried ACSII commands of ALT 58 but the ALT button, like shift, does not work in that enviroment either.

someone for the love of god, help me because its such a typically annoying thing to get stuck on....

UEFI uses ANSI US keyboard layout so adjust accordingly, with AZERTY it might be shift+M or shift+%

thanks but the shift (or alt for that matter) does not work inside the shell, it has no effect apart form on letters making them into capitals

As it's all inside a VM, can't you use the mouse for copying and pasting text?

no unfortunately that does not work, in the shell menu of sort of the overall holder of proxmox it does work, hell I can use the colon in there and indeed copy paste with the mouse, but in the, I guess opencore? added shell menu I cant do any of that.

but I did solve it now, I decided ot try to log in on the proxmox IP from my laptop and behold, for some reason it works there so weird but ill take it....
