My laptop Acer Aspire E5-511G-P1ES never had a dvd rom drive. It has something like a plastic thing that replaces the empty space. Anyways , me figured out since the laptop is running so bad to reinstall Windows and since I am at it, go ahead and place a SSD too. I figured I will buy one of these hdd caddy's and put the new SSD inside. https://www.pcgarage.ro/adaptoare-hdd-caddy/oem/caddy-25-sata-hdd-ssd-127-mm/

Boomer! Since i have 2 slots, I think one for data transfer SATA one for power / electricity but they are mini slots version that I never seen. And the youtube is full of tutorials but for the regular size slots not the mini ones, and I don't even know if an adapter even exists.

I put the sata cable next to it, so you can have something to compare sizes.

Any ideas what tool I need for the job to install an SSD in this laptop?

SATA optical bay? That's what the specs tell me? Is this the right name for it? What is this strange small connection? I have never seen it before? Something tells me it will have slow data transfer. Will it even be able to take advantage of a SSD?

Found this on a local website https://www.emag.ro/adaptor-hdd-cad...4_2f39fc7811cca99104a7e7501e9f3862_1525367176

6GBps...that sounds decent. But i guess it will do the job?

EDIT: Nvm...i found out. It's slimline sata. That's what it is called. I think I will get it. Will wait until tommorow, maybe more people show up and let me know if it's the best decision judging by the pics I uploaded.

@Hood you were of big help
