Greetings forum members,

I am trying to get the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF to work with a Pentium Gold G4560 but to no avail. The CPU is Skylake and should in theory work but it doesn't.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, and were you able to resolve this?

Thanks,
Ppanickk

For what im reading. Its down to the fact that HP havent added support for it in any of the most recent bios updates for that product. An i3-6300 would probably work.

You are SoL unless youre good at bios modding and can manually add the microcode of that chip into the bios yourself and flash it.

As far as everything else is concerned. Its just HP being HP. HP does what HP do.

fastest supported CPU for the 800 G2 is an i7-6700. Good luck.

Thank you for responding. Well, I was able to inject microcodes to BIOS files previously, and then successfully flash them, but I doubt it's going to be that simple with HP.

Edit: I gave it a try with the MMTool, it appears it does not support HP BIOSes. The CPU patch section is unavailable / greyed out.
