[WTB] HTPC Remote

Hi TPUers,

I am looking for a remote for my HTPC (XBMC Server). I am really open to anything Linux compatible (using XBMCbuntu). It's got to have a receiver (USB connection).

Price range is ~$50 shipped (give or take depending)

I will have to check that out after work. To answer your question, I am looking for a standard remote control. XBMC's interface doesn't really require a keyboard (at least no part I've seen to this point).

You just need a remote, or a TV tuner card, too? There are lots of searchr esults here for a remote, but most of them have a tuner card associated with them:

No tuner right now. I just blew off fixing VMWare and checked out flirc and it looks really promising. I may get a tuner later down the road in hopes of getting my cable to integrate with XBMC server and record shows.

XBMC has some pretty cool keyboard shortcuts. "I" For information, "C" for comand, Backslash for windowed, end for close. I use Eden with Aeon MQ3

I'll have to check out the youtube video tonight when I get home. How do you like the Harmony remote? I'm sure later down the road I will get a keyboard and some other things, but right now I just want to get it functional for the wife to use while I am at work.

I bought the Harmony 650 from Tigerdirect open box for $45. It takes a little while to set up and learn the software but I use it the most. One button starts everything up. One button changes all setting to watch TV and switches inputs on the TV. I love it. The first remote I bought was a generic MCE remote I bought of Amazon for $19. I still use the IR receiver for the Harmony
