So i swapped my GPU from gt1030 to rx580 and i can't boot up into bios after i switched them, i only can go into bios on the GT 1030 ( I selled the gt1030 so i don't have acces to it) and not the rx, i tried:
-Removing the lithium battery from the motherboard
-Completely formatted the entire system
-Tried going to the bios from windows settings
And i need to go into BIOS because i want to swap my CPU from R3 1200 to R5 3600, and i think i need an update for that, so can anyone help? Pleasee

Edit : Also the motherboard im using is B450M DS3H WiFi
And my gpu bios number is up to date when i looked at it

Install @bios and you will be able to flash the Gigabyte bios under Windows (at own risk).

Download and installation order:
  1. https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Utility/mb_utility_app_center_B24.0315.1.zip
  2. https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Utility/mb_utility_atbios_B24.0130.1.zip

Open CMD as admin and run this command (and tell us if it worked):
shutdown /r /fw

This command restarts the PC and enters the motherboard SETUP.

Uhh, i did it, and it doesn't work
Maybe it's because when i boot up my pc, for a long time theres a black screen, and only in the top left corner there is text showing HDMI or DisplayPort and it switches about 4 times, then my pc boots up to windows, it wasn't like that before i got my new GPU, before it was a logo of GIGABYTE on the monitor, then it turned on windows
(Im so sorry for poor english)

Update your motherboard bios, do a clear cmos too

@VuurVOS @eidairaman1 could it be OP's RX580 is running a non-UEFI VBIOS, so it doesn't show either the POST or the settings menu?

This is common and NOT a motherboard issue.

I think you missed the part where Wardeenclyffe states he/she wants to update the motherboard bios. I offered him/her a different solution which works on operating system level from gigabyte themselves.
No need to go into the bios to flash the motherboard bios

@Wardeenclyffe, What revision is the motherboard? If it is revision 1.4 or newer, you dont need to update the bios for the R5 3600. You can see the revision number on the motherboard.

No need to update the motherboard Bios as a b450 can accept a 3600 without updating.
Your RX580 is the issue, it has an issue with it's GOP.

Check the processor support list first => https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-WIFI-rev-10-11-12-13/support#support-cpu
Wardeenclyffe could have bought the motherboard on release date and never updated the bios, so in theory it still could be F1.
F30 which is release not much later should have some support for Matisse CPU's but is not recommended.

@Wardeenclyffe
1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 revisions of B450M DS3H WiFi should be updated to atleast bios F40 before installing the R5 3600 processor.
You can use CPU-Z to see which bios version is currently on the motherboard.

It's something like that, it was DS3H-CF not WiFi, sorry!! (It's rev 1.0)
And also for updating the bios you need to go into the bios no? And i can't do that because it doesn't let me in

The screenshots shows F51. For the R5 3600 you need to be at least at F40 so you are good.

Is there somewhere tutorial on like youtube or something that i can use so i will not damage my PC?

Why is it at x8 for PCI-E bandwidth? RX 580 is x16, IIRC. If you still can't see the BIOS screens, then it's possibly a buggy monitor firmware.

Some boards limit bandwidth when nvme is attached

Here on my PC, sometimes I can only access the motherboard setup screen via the HDMI output and not via the DisplayPort.

If it is revision 1.4 or newer, you dont need to update the bios for the R5 3600.

I recommend that all devices (routers, HDDs, SSDs, motherboards, etc.) have their firmware updated. If a new firmware has been made available, it's because programming errors were found in the previous firmware and corrected in the new firmware.

Is there any diffrence between the x8 and x16? And how do i change it? Just put the gpu in the other slot?
Sorry i'm not an expert in these things

With RX 580, nope. Probably a marginal difference in benchmarks but nothing special.

remember to put gpu in first slot from up to down. of course there is diff in x16 vs x8, the more the better. rx580 is already ancient gpu, so to squeeze every possible performance use it @ x16 mode.

Even GTX 1080 doesn't suffer from x8 vs x16

Isn't it in the right slot?

Lower PCI-E speeds can also be caused by Link State Power Management. Under (full) 3D load it should be running at max speeds.

I recommend NOT upgrading BIOS/Firmware unless there is a specific issue you are having or a security issue for edge devices.

Motherboards may only be adding fringe case security fixes that reduce performance and don't apply to a home/game setup. Sometimes it's ti increase RAM compatability or to add support for a new CPU.

GPUs typically don't need a BIOS update, many people have bricked many cards trying to flash GPUs without a good reason or understanding of why, how and when it should be done.
