I have this intel core I5-3470 thats been great to me for the past 5 years. it still does everything i like it to do. well the dreaded windows 11 has come around saying i cant update due to this not be a supported processor. attached is my specs, it says Windows 10 will discontinue updates August 12 2022 and i got to make sure im able to update with as much as i do on this CPU. Im hoping someone might be able to tell me if they will eventually make this processor acceptable, or what i should upgrade to, thats not to costly and will meet the minimum, or even be able to accept my RAM and Video card from this system. video card GTX1050. and 12GB of ram

Yes, it appears that in the desktop segment 11 does not support anything older than 8th Gen CPU's, I think it is down to DCH compatibility ...............

TPM 1.2 max iirc and Win11 need TPM 2.0 i have a i5-3570 and a i7-3770 in the same case, yet it does not disturb me much ... (still run Win8.1 on them no issues at all )
my main rig run a R5 3600 (which has TPM 2.0 and AMD PSP 11.0 ) under Win 10 and Win 11 does not interest me until it is absolutely mandatory.
i ran Win 7 until 8.1 was fine enough for me.
as the other two said/wrote, 2025 support mean you will be just as fine as i am runnin Win 10

Hi,
You could force the inplace shift to 11 install
Just grab a older 11 iso and mount it without internet.
Then just disable check for updates and delete appraiserres.dll after checks are done.
Most of the restrictions for 11 are bs and not being really enforced atm only clean installs are getting more complicated to install 11 but by no means impossible.
