Is it acctually safe to use negative PBO curve to undervolt a ryzen 5600x ?

I just read this from another thread which makes me think would it be more safe to disable PBO ? :

Board makers are not enabling or using their OCP and OVP safety features If you don't manually set limits.
The biggest issue i keep seeing is people enabling PBO to adjust curve undervolting which enables all other PBO values to effectively unlimited values that relies entirely on the CPUs hardcoded limits.

The CPU is never actually going to draw that much power in use as to hypothetically trigger OCP, those protections are for when there is something physically wrong with the CPU and it's actually short circuiting the board or something like that.

If you...

- Don't override voltage control (let the cpu manage voltage)
- Don't set limits your VRM can't handle (enter/start with values that correspond to your CPU defaults)
- Don't override scalar (keep it 1x)

using PBO won't an issue as far as I know on AM4 platform.

Here is an example when protection feature fails ... or actually doesn't exist.

Ok i will try again some PBO later

What would be considered as "safe" for some undervolting/negative PBO curve on a 5600x ? My temps are decent and barely go over 60-62°c max temp after a long gaming session

I remember that i had -15 PBO but that show me some errors on OCCT tool. Now im only to -5. Wierd thing is either -5 or -15 on the PBO curve do not show me any difference on the tdp. Cpu go up to around 77 watt no matter what setting i have there. Is there a way to get the CPU to 65 watt and to awso boost little higher then it cant keep 4.1 ghz all core on cinebench for some reason?

Here is more info on that if interested to see the scores and the rest of it

5600x? I would consider just manually overclocking it if you can cool it. I'd at least see what's stable.

I set very high power limits and let it boost to its redline. It’s super easy to cool so why not?

I do not even want to overclock it i want to undervolt it a little and get lower power. And by the way for some reason my 5600x is not reaching 4.2 ghz all core on cinebench. It stay between 4048mhz and 4100
maybe for a split second 4170... So basicly i wish it would hit 4.2 ghz like it normally should in stock settings? Temps are good but i don't get it that high.. In games wierdly i see with afterburner that all cores get up to 4,675mhz even all togheter at the same time (i don't have OC only PBO negative curve to -5). So not sure how is this possible if all core boost should be 4,2 ghz and on cinebench the cpu underperforms and stay between 4.05ghz and 4.1ghz.

Cinebench r20 score - 4019 (other 5600x reach around 4400-4500)
Cinebench r23 score - 10323 (other 5600x reach around 11000)
