Hello

I have a tuf b650m-e wifi (latest bios and drivers ) r5 7600 , 4070 super and 32 gb ram dual channel (2 same sticks , 6000mhz cl30 team group )

I have this constant stuttering in some games ( sometimes even standing still triggers it)

Not all games happen but there is a small stutter that happens like 1-2 seconds

i cannot even shoot in siege that it triggers a lot of frametime issues

trust me , it is not about the frame time being 100% flat , i know it oscilates but the frametime shown in the video constantly has these skips

i´ve enabled the default expo on the motherboard and tried 4800mhz ram frequency as well , no change

is there something else i´m missing ? thanks

sorry is this specific to windows or something ?

thanks
No, it's specific to a certain module used by RivaTuner that reports the power usage for your card. It's a known issue on Nvidia cards AFAIK. Try disabling the power monitoring by going in the settings and clicking on the check mark next to any "power" sensor for your GPU.

Can you try to completely disable MSI and RivaTuner and try again? Also, are you running the game from an SSD or HDD? Maybe try limiting your FPS to something you always achieve, no matter the scenario?

running on a ssd , checked the health and still fine too ( checked on crystal disk info )

no component is above average temps and the ssd is about 59 degrees

i have a weaker laptop (3050) and i runs r6 at about 150 frames but i don´t get these stutters at all

but seemed better overall , that constant frametime ticking is gone i guess

I see you're also running super high FPS, maybe try locking them to, say, 400-ish so that you're 100% stable?

This

It could be all kinds of things. With stuff like that, i tend to look first at power settings and display settings first. Good hunting.

it already helped a bit but i thought it was something more serious like ram maybe

i´ve just enabled default ram expo 1 on the mobo ( tuf b650m-e wifi )

it is running cl 30 6000mhz and r5 7600 ( not any oc on any pc part )

but it makes sense , never ran power settings , this time i went full lazy and ticked everything on msi ( my laptop was properly configured , without power settings )

like , even dropping the ram to the lowest 4800 still triggered it

anytime anyone in team/friends or me had issue on siege, was either driver or win, outside those using defective hw.
other games or just siege?
uninstall rivatuner COMPLETELY, it messes with uplay/anti cheat/game overlay, unless something with uplay has changed in the past 2y, i dont know about.

did you test ram after switching to tuned profile? and preferably not with memtest86 variants
what render are you using for siege? since switching to ryzen, vulcan worked best for anyone i know playing it (~100 over the years)
what settings in Nv control panel? shadowplay enabled?

i would dl latest amd/Nv drivers and DDU cleaner, go offline (until your done), uninstall chipset/gpu drivers, clean with DDU, re-install latest chipset/gpu drivers.

Also what bios version are you using,,with AMD this matters alot.

Remove your chipset drivers with a program called revo unstalller, also remove all the existing files with that program, before you reinstall the chipset driver

Also check performance with default bios settinngs also, with expo disabled,if the stutter goed away

4800 will more probably trigger it, because it's super cr*p. 5200 minimum, 5600 minimum "okay", and 6000 "sweet spot". anything higher than 6000 is "at your own wish".
wait for bios updates..
i can't name this "stuttering", however...

not sure why you would recommend a paid tool for something many free options are same/better.
the few times i tried, it never removed anything i couldnt get rid of with things like ccleaner or better DDU or others.

completely ignoring that recommend and prefered way to remove amd chipset/Nv gpu drivers, is uninstall thru win programs/settings,
reboot (each time) and THEN apply/try any "cleaner".

i think ubisoft removed vulkan for siege

how can i test ram , if not memtest86 ? are there better ways of testing ? thanks

ok , i´ve managed to get it happening again , look how weird it does

it is like shooting weapons destroys the frametime

TM5 or HCI (little easier to use), just make sure you uncheck the box for low perf thread, and try to close as much progs as you can, nothing running in background etc, so you dont slow testing.
test stock settings till 400% to exclude defective ram, with expo it should be tested to at least 800%, better 1600% to be on the safe side, but 400% would be enough for a quick check.

did you uninstall rivatuner?
did you enable HAGS? VRR in win? shadowplay enabled?
what settings in Nv panel, like low latency/vsync, what settings for siege in-game?

Will check the ram testing

1 : Not yet
2: No option enabled
3: In NV panel i use default all the time and for siege i use 1080p and lowest settings ( lowest anti aliasing as well but 100 scale , 1080p )

for ram , should i go tm5 or hci ? never tried any

thanks

hci, easier to setup. start it, uncheck the box for low perf threads and run, errors get shown automatically.
without rivatuner disabled and re-tested, wouldnt even worry about ram.

the moni doesnt support vrr? no reason to go unsynced anymore, no need for uncapped fps, good friend played almost exclusively pvp until about 1y ago, and was basically using my settings just at 120Hz cap.

doubt thats it, but one option is to copy the game folders from install to another drive, delete the installed folders, then copy everything back from 2nd drive, make sure to be offline, no uplay running and of course dont deinstall game, just copy/delete/copy back the game folder

I'm mentioning this since everyone else already tried to recommend the other possible solutions and you seem to have tried some different things already..
Since it's just some games not others, check the VSYNC settings in the games that stutter compared to the other games. See if VSync is on or off. See if anything else like Max Frame Rates are set in the games., or DLSS/FSR settings.
In the games that stutter, try turning off VSYNC - or turning it on. Also if the game has a Frame Rate Limit try setting it to something reasonable like 100 or maybe even 60.
If those don't work, try using the Nvidia App and specify a Global Frame Rate Limit of 100. You have to restart the games for it to take effect, can't do it while the game is running.
You can try specifying Max Frame Rate/Frame Limit Globally in Nvidia App, if that seems to fix the problem you can remove those changes and specify them just for those two games.

The problem might just be a difference between your monitor refresh rate and the game's frame rate it is rendering at - that can cause a tiny stutter on some peoples configurations.
Find out what your monitor's refresh is running at, whether its 60 or 144 or whatever in the Windows Graphics settings. Even if you bought a 144 monitor, Windows may be running it at 60 so you should look at the Windows Graphics settings to see what rate it is actually running at (and you can bump it up if its at 60)
You want the game to run a frame rate BELOW that settings in Windows and not exactly at that amount. If your monitor is 144, specify a Global frame rate limit of 141 in Nvidia App for instance.
Or it could be that your config on those games is having a problem or even some games tax the GPU more than others. I have problems on Helldivers 2 if I don't limit the frame rate to give the GPU some breathing room. I have another game with the same problem, it will cause stutters if I leave the frame rate unlimited when a lot of special effects around being spammed by the game.

As a last resort you can reinstall Windows 11 as a fresh install to see if it helps (but this would rarely be the issue I think so its generally a last resort), especially if you did the "Upgrade" from Windows 10 because without a fresh Win 11 install it brings over some things that can cause problems in Windows 11. To do a fresh install, you just create a Win 11 USB key to install from and when it boots up from USB key you select New Install or whatever they call it and choose the same drive to install it - then it warns you it will preserve your old UserData and Program Files folders and it puts them in C:\Windows.Old I believe - something like that.. but dont tell it to format the drive obviously, go watch a youtube video of someone doing a fresh Windows 11 install from USB key onto an existing Windows 11 so you see what they select to do it etc.
tbh installing a fresh Windows should be done like every year, it only takes maybe an hour or so to get everything back on there that you use - for a lot of people probably much less if they mostly use websites, Steam and Discord. You can copy previous settings by looking in the Windows.Old/Users/YourName/AppData/Local and LocalLow and Roaming if you want to speed things up a bit for different apps you use (especially NotePad++) and you can also ask ChatGPT about different apps and where they store their settings at and its almost always in the AppData folder.

i would say test with stock first, but its fine, just let it run past 800%, usually around that number i sometimes saw some errors showing.
doesnt have to be bsod, i had trouble with a single voltage being slightly off, that messed with usb/io stuff, meaning it wasnt enough to show errors right away
(broken/incorrectly tweaked ram should produce errors in first 5, maybe 20 min)

what driver are you running for the gpu?
i know with recent drivers all possible (micro) stutter in siege were "fixed", but might need removing driver/cleaning and reinstall to fix it.

@GetLitGames
its a good idea to actually be someone playing that game, before recommending (specific) stuff when it comes to settings etc.
siege has build in sync/capping support, and should take priority over any gpu/driver enabled settings.

and no, this isnt stutter from some bottleneck because of uncapped fps, unless its past 200.

so far in the past 10y of playing it, as well as everyone i played with, that had any minor stutter or similar, it was settings or driver related, not win.
wouldnt even care to think about wiping awin install, before making sure its not hw (ram), or removing drivers and cleaning with ddu.
did this on a +2y old install that was carried over to a new board, and cleaned, and worked better than some previous drivers on a clean 2 week old install.
