I try to find a card that supports a 5K monitor and fits in my mac Pro 5.1. Any suggestions? Even better if it supports two displays.

A Mac firmware-flashed RDNA2 GPU will work in the macpro5,1. RX 6600/XT, 6700/XT, 6800/XT 6900 XT and their 6x50 variants. I assume flashed RDNA1 (RX 5500/XT, 5600/XT, 5700/XT) also works and I know that flashed Polaris (RX 460, 470, 480, 550, 560, 570, 580, 590) does as well. I know nothing of this procedure and it's something I've been following with mild interest for over 15 years as I used to have Mac Pros from the 1,1 to 5,1 versions which I struggled to find a decent use for.

Then I would need to find info aborut these Flash prosedures. The reason for using an old macpro 5.1 is the use of the old macromedia Freehand program. Its the best vectorbased graphics program ever made, bar none. Adobe bought it many years ago an put it in the drawer and tries to force us to use their Adobe Illustrator (or irritator). I also run the photoshop C6 with a permanent lisence on it, and find the mac more than quick enough for regular use.

For your use case, the Radeon VII is probably the best choice all around. But that is also a difficult to find, expensive graphics card.

It has the same Vega 20 GPU design from the last generation of Intel-based Mac Pros, and should also be the easiest to get to work. OpenCore Patcher should be able to spoof it into being detected as the Mac Radeon Pro Vega II with near full functionality, but that's where about my knowledge about it ends. It may require a lot of work, and most of us here at TPU are Windows or Linux PC users. Good luck and keep us updated!
