Totally agree. But note the key word there is "maxes". If my CPUs temps jump over 60°C during heavy (but "realistic") loads, then quickly drop when that load recedes, that does not bother me. It is when they rise above 60°C and sit there for more than a few seconds that is going to get my attention and cause me to verify my fans are spinning properly, my case vents and interiors are clean of heat-trapping dust, or that there is no stuck process keeping the CPU stuck at 100% for no apparent reason.

That said, I never lose sight of the fact I still have lots of headroom left. So having my attention is a far cry from panicking.

Also what few seem to realize is that Prime95 is NOT an indicator of "normal" operation. In fact, it is specifically designed to impose "a worst-case scenario for computational workloads." Prime95 establishes an artificial environment.

IMO, so many people panic unnecessarily when they see their Prime95 results that I almost feel only professionals who understand the results should have access to it. Upon further investigation, you learn their idle temps are typically under 40°C, during normal use, maybe in the low 50s and during extreme gaming, peaks rarely ever approach Tjmax.

Case in point. The OP has an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. As seen by AMD's published specs, that process has a "Max. Operating Temperature (Tjmax)
95°C".

80°C isn't even very warm.

People need to keep tabs on the temps during regular use, then here's an idea - enjoy their computer!!!

Disclaimer: I am talking about CPUs in standard (mid or larger) PC cases, not in laptop or AiO cases where all bets are off.
