Just bought klipsch the sevens and a svs pb 2000 pro sub...holeee sheet!

All I am saying is that decent audio gear can make win11 gaming sound off the charts. I play mw3 and the sub I have kicks you in the chest with explosions and bullet shots.

I am coming from arena 7 2.1 speakers and let me tell you, def invest in good sound. It completely changes gaming on win11. I was going to save my money and upgrade to a different piece of gear for my pc but went the audio route. This set up should last me at least 8 to 10 years if not more. I will never go back to in a box pc speaker set ups. Totally worth the money for good quality audio.

Any of you guys out there with klipsch the sevens monitors or an svs pb 2000 pro sub? How do you like it? What is your audio setup? Just for those interested, when you plug a sub into the sevens, it hard codes the crossover to 60hertz on the sevens. Anything under 60hertz is done by the subwoofer. I mean I can't get over how good gaming is. Like a night and day upgrade!

I have an NAD AVR, but it is closer to 15 years old now, some Mirage towers that are probably about 30, and a Monitor Audio sub that is also about 25.. packed away lol..

Right now I am using a JBL Bar700 and I have the Atmos software for windows. Its actually pretty decent lol. I have a few games so far that have Atmos, I like it

I do feel you on moving air though, it is impressive. My Monitor Audio sub has 2x 10s in the cabinet and it does ok. Better than my soundbars sub, but at normal levels they are about par.. sorta

When I was in the apartment, I did feel bad for the people below me, I ran that setup all the time..

You can also crack a window to let the room breathe, sometimes it helps

This is what many PC users don't understand, those PC surround sounds systems just can't hold a candle to high end monitors. Although they have more speakers, two monitors give that 180degree wall of sound and as they say, there is no replacement for displacement. Those big speakers can move air. It works out well with a monitor as they can sit on the sides and still give the imaging. Whereas SS usually requires a center speaker that has to be either too high or low. The speakers in a PC SS system are small comical low quality junk by comparison. Even though you get surround sound, you dont get that big sound and ultra sharp quality coming from the front like being exposed to a massive wall of sound.

I use to game with Creative 5.1 and 7.1 systems, imo they were a complete gimmick, this silly idea of SS in such a small area that never worked. And then I started hearing about monitors and got some cheapies first, then got expensive ones. When I first played Crysis 2 which had exceptional sound quality on my expensive monitors, it was just a whole new world of immersion. The only way SS can possible compete is in a very large home theater type setup. And those cheap subs are boomy and awful. One issue with the sub is you really want bass traps in the corners of room. Imo the sub is overkill. The big monitors for me provide all the bass and impact I could ever need.

I use headphones a lot or my HK receiver with Polk monitors and a 12" sub and the TV speaker when adjusted right fills the center stage for gaming, the center speaker I have doesn't fit the desk at all.

I had a Klipsch Synergy 5.1 set up (I tried the reference series but too bright for me) in the 90's and then went to a Mirage 5.1 with a Boston Acoustic sub around 2002. That was all pre-kids, now I just use a vizio soundbar and ask my wife "WTF did they just say?"

I kinda felt the same way about the Paradigm Phantom V3 and my Adcom GTP450/GFA545 combo. Way too bright. I tried out a Carver preamp to help warm things up, but it was just too much of everything lol. It overdrove my system with ease pretty much..

I wouldn't mind getting a different bar with more drivers, but I also want a vintage stereo just for music.. so we'll see.

I was looking at a set a few years ago, but now the price in CAD is out of reach and the 13% tax doesn't help either.

I love these speakers. Friend of mine has them and I was just thinking about getting a pair just for my turntable. My wallet just needs to muster up the courage tho!
For my PC I'm currently using a set of Adam Audio T5V's. Really nice highs and they make a great speaker for gaming. I got HiVi-Swans OS-10's sitting on top of those currently for my turntable and bluetooth stuff.

Down the road I'd like to go with a 32" monitor and some larger 7 or 8" monitor speakers on the sides.

A friend of mine has them. We replaced a rather fancy sound bar with them. They really do sound killer. Good choice with a sub. If i have one gripe about them, they lack a bit of bottom end.

Ps, my Klipsch 2.1 set hooked up to my comp died today.......looks like it soldering time.

Ive always found even 2.1 sound much better in a PC setting than 5.1. Been running my hk system like that for over 20 years. When it finally dies Im defo going for something similar. But bigger.

Size matters, simple as, and there is really not such a thing as too much sub; subbass gets more depth if you can turn it down instead of up ironically; a weak/smaller sub needs more volume while a powerful sub brings out the lowest rumble much more clearly at low volume without drowning the room in booming noise. The real power is exclusively in the 20-30Hz region. If a sub cabinet can provide clean definition in that area its a winner.

The Sevens set the crossover at 60hz when connected to a sub. The games that I play, MW3, D4 and other stuff brings out the lows really good in the sub. Music is crisp and clear. Def worth the money for how good the setup sounds. Good audio is, without question, worth investing in. I have them on desktop speaker stands and isolation foam on top of the stands. They are about 4 feet apart on my desk.

Investing in transducers of any kind (loudspeakers, microphones, headphones, monitors) usually has a high payoff. For much else technological progress has made cheap-ish gear pretty good (e.g. AD and DA conversion), but this is where the big bucks buy you something real.

The svs pb 2000 pro is def a game changer. The sound in Diablo 4 and MW3 is really a treat with its deep bass. Makes the games come alive. The cool thing I didn't notice was the bullet shots in MW3 have impact with their sound with the sub. You can feel the grenade and rocket blasts. I will always have a decent sub from now on. But the thing is, when you don't have it, you don't know what you're missing. I can't ever go without a decent sub now for gaming. The crossover on my speakers being 60hertz I thought would be a problem, but everything is working out great sonically.
