Koolance Ready with GeForce GTX 295 Single PCB Water Block

Renowned water-cooling components specialist Koolance is one of the first to be ready with a water block for the new single-PCB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 video card. The Koolance VID-NX295S provides full-coverage cooling for the accelerator. The package bundles a full-coverage cooling plate for even the rear-side of the card, where 14 out of 28 of the card's memory chips are located. The water block uses nickel-plated copper as its primary material, topped with an acrylic jacket. Its dimensions are 24.2 cm x 12.3 cm x 1.8 cm, and it weighs in at around 1 kg. It uses a standard G 1/4" nozzle threading. The VID-NX295S priced at US $159.99, and is available from the Koolance store.

What's so important about an "attractive" pc? It's not like you're going to reproduce with it... as long as it does it's job cooling than it's fine by me. Sure certian things are out of place like purple ram slots on a motherboard but even that isn't a big deal... how much time are you going to spend looking at your pc when you should be using it to do whatever?

Let me ask you this. Why do car manufacturers even bother designing nice looking cars? Why do architects spend so much money and time designing houses? Why do people spend millions of dollars on plastic surgery? Some people like things to look good and perform well. It's not hard to make something that functions well. It's not hard to make something that has a gorgeous form. But making something that melds form and function is an art.

besides.... look at the inside of any full cover block.

theres not alot in there as far as cooling is concerned. a few fins and a duct is all.

what happened to the magnificent pin structures like cpu blocks have? they would probably drop a few more degrees off the temps.

and i say... as in any conversation... if you havent owned one yourself, you cant really talk about it.

i actually kinda like they way it looks and even-though you could just rig a pair of low profile cpu blocks on the top of the single slot card its still nice looking

I totaly agree, It does it matter.,
Hell yea, the waterblock is designed for the enthusast, thats us.
So it will mostly be used by people that are fine tuning their systems and take pride in what their doing. The blocks aren't cheap so why not make them look good

Take a look at this design, rolleyes:
it looks like the coastline of our country. or that front part looks like a elephant,
comon they can do better then this....

but i bet is got the least metal possible, so i guess that is their motivation

Bah, and if it were all clean lines and black someone would be on here complaining that it is too heavy and should have the excess metal removed and looks ugly black.



You can please some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time... but you can never please all of the people all the time. Plus it's Koolance... so all too often people look at their stuff with flame statements already loaded and ready to fire.

i honestly dont think video ram needs watercooling. make smaller gpu only blocks then make us utilize something like enzotech's ramsinks. would cut the weight in half.

For example, Koolance's GPU-200 block:

The only thing I dont like about that option is that it usually takes up two slots like the original air cooler. I'm a big fan of Koolance's full coverage video blocks because they work well and only use one slot. I have seen cases of people using their older CPU blocks to make single slot solutions, but it is fugly.

I sound like a Koolance fanboy.

I have always loved koolance, i have several cpu blocks and a gpu block for my280. So i think i am a fan,.

But I think the point Fit was making is that it was just rushed out, they could have added just a little more design and it would have looked wicked. I like the polished metal look, but it's the outline that kills it for me. So i don't think we were locked and loaded ready to flame but mearly stating the obvious.

In a rush to get to market, a good koolance observation is that "theres no creativity in waterblocks" and i agree, they prob were so interested in first to market, that they just banged it out. No biggie, but we're just looking for some style along with functionality,..
