People use technology to make their lives easier and to discover exciting ways of staying entertained at home. Whether you're embracing PC gaming for the first time or have been a passionate gaming devotee for years and just need an upgrade, Lenovo is committed to bringing you technologies that are not only smarter but also offer more choices to more people. We actively listen to feedback from the gaming community and understand that gamers want fun, immersive experiences in sleek-looking devices with stellar FPS performance at the best value. In short, players want more choices.

That's why following the recent launch of our new Lenovo Legion lineup this spring that focused on customer-inspired innovations such as a better keyboard and thermals, our engineering team worked on expanding even more Windows 10 PC options for gaming enthusiasts. The expansion won't cut corners on performance, graphics, or display either. Available starting this summer, we've added AMD Ryzen mobile and desktop processors to five new Lenovo Legion gaming PCs—the 17-inch Lenovo Legion 5 laptop (alongside its 15-inch size that's already available with AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series Mobile Processors), the high-octane Lenovo Legion 5P laptop, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 laptop for entry-level gaming, plus the Lenovo Legion Tower 5 and IdeaCentre Gaming 5 desktops.

Next-level AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series Mobile Processors can improve your thin and light Lenovo Legion laptop's performance by raising clock speeds—making games, content creation and productivity applications all run much faster.

Built using the AMD "Zen 2" core architecture with 7 nm process technology, Lenovo Legion offers customers the latest Ryzen Mobile Processors that deliver balanced performance with better responsiveness than its predecessor.1 The Ryzen 4000 Series Mobile Processors also offer twice the power efficiency compared to the previous generation.2 When paired with available NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, Lenovo's gaming laptops and desktops come fully equipped to tackle the latest games with remarkable speed.

These additions strengthen the diversity of Lenovo's PC gaming portfolio, offering players more processor and graphics options needed to experience the latest games at the highest settings. Let's check out these powerhouse machines.

Don't skimp on your selection - Lenovo Legion 5
Offering more choices for gamers in a clean, minimalist design, the Lenovo Legion 5 laptop comes in two sizes and is equipped with up to AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H-Series Mobile Processors paired with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPUs.

With up to 144Hz smooth refresh rate, the 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) wide-viewing angle displays are enabled with Dolby Vision for spectacular picture quality. You can experience the Harman Kardon Speaker System with acoustics chamber and immersive Dolby Atmos audio,3 providing a new level of exciting sound that will enrich your gaming experience.

The Lenovo Legion 5 delivers up to 16 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 memory, 1 TB PCIe SSD of storage4, and it's optimally cooled via advanced Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 thermals and available in sleek Phantom Black hue.

If you feel a deeper key travel (up to 1.5 mm) on the Lenovo Legion 5, that's by design, thanks to the second transition curve of our inspired Lenovo Legion TrueStrike keyboard. A white backlit keyboard offers 100 percent anti-ghosting and soft-landing switches—resulting in hair-trigger accuracy and a more tactile gaming experience. The 17-inch model provides up to 7.5 hours of battery life5 and Rapid Charge Pro.6

Outpace the competition - Lenovo Legion 5P
For excellent gaming performance, the Lenovo Legion 5P laptop has up to AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H-Series Mobile Processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPUs. Ideal for eSports, the Lenovo Legion 5P comes in Iron Grey and features white-lit "Y" logo. Crucial to keeping heat away from players' fingertips and minimizing noise is the enhanced thermal performance of Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0, featuring copper heat sinks and a quad channel ventilation system to circulate cool air to key system components. It also uses an integrated thermal module for greater thermal efficiency. Enjoy maximum performance via Dual Burn support, which pushes the CPU and GPU together for improved framerates, as well as Lenovo Q-Control 3.0 for when you want to manually switch between performance modes.

With up to 32 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 memory and up to 1 TB PCIe SSD4 of storage, its Harman Kardon speakers are optimized with Dolby Atmos3 for sound that flows around you. Dedicated media keys and number pad make video editing and setting macros a snap, while its smarter, Lenovo Legion TrueStrike keyboard provides 100 percent anti-ghosting and is available with optional 4-zone RGB system backlighting.

Effortlessly portable at under an inch thin and weighing 2.5 kg (5.1 lbs), gamers on-the-go will get up to 7.5 hours of battery life5 with Rapid Charge Pro and can use the slim power adapter7 to charge from zero to up to 50 percent battery life in 30 minutes.6

Push performance further - Lenovo Legion Tower 5

Paired with up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU for ultrafast frame rates at over 4K resolution10, this powerful gaming tower is optimally built for overclocked system performance at an accessible price point.11

Multitasking, streaming, and content creating are made easier with super-fast Wi-Fi 612 connectivity and a storage capacity of up to 2x 1 TB PCIe SSD1 plus 2x 2 TB 3.5 HDD and up to 128 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 of memory.

Push beyond the bounds of smaller rig configurations while keeping things cool and whisper quiet during cinematic gaming experiences with improved fin thermals, 150w CPU cooler and larger fans that circulate air throughout its airy 26-liter interior. Lenovo Q-Control lets you cycle through three modes of fan speeds to suit your game performance or content creation needs, while the optional 200 W liquid cooling system quiets your machine even more, with optimally cooled components to further optimize on frame rates.

Accentuated with cool blue LED lighting and its chassis in a Raven Black hue, gamers can choose to showcase their personality and high-power internals with transparent side panels. OEMs should be throwing these press releases together with a competition, where consumers would have to guess what the OEM fracked up in every one of those systems to keep them from totally anihinating the more expensive Intel based models.

I really don't want to read this press release, because I know that every one of those systems will be limited/crippled in some way.

I was expecting some AMD gpu option with AMD cpu. It has a nice ring to it, at least for me.
We'll, the 5600M and the 5500M are available, but they're kinda weakish...
AMD needs to launch the 5700M, otherwise, these nice 4800H & co will continue to be paired with weak cards.

AMD needs to design a power efficient mGPU competitive with the 2070m that isn't buggy and hot.

No AMD discrete card?
Up to Nvidia 2060 says the article. The Legion series always come with a discrete GPU.

I won't ever buy them until they begin offering Radeon inside. And preferably ultra-high quality Ultra HD display.

Navi 10 is efficient enough.
Please, let the consumers decide if they/we want "efficiency" or the superior features of the Radeons.

This corruption in the likes of Dell, HP, Lenovo and the others is really bothering, tiring and not interesting or funny anymore..

What planet do you live on? All mobile CPU and GPU get hot. It's not because they are inefficient, it's because of the very limited cooling in a confined space.

In other words they get hot because they are inefficient and the design does not allow for better cooling.

As an OEM you are not supposed to place desktop parts in laptop chassis, nor are you supposed to chase extreme performance in limited space.
Your problems become obvious when you violate the normal power envelopes for such chassis.
For example - a 15-watt CPU with a 35-watt GPU, but not a 65 or 95-watt Core i-something meaningless with an RTX 2080 that is 160 watts or more..

Lenovo Legion, Razer, H.P. Omen would like a word.
But as you said, they are chasing performance in the thin and light division, and that does not compute.
Performance laptops should be built like decent gaming laptops, with good cooling and design appropriate.
